From the moment that Annabelle and Kol were invited into the home of a small family, the only thing that could really be heard was the muffled, blood curdling screams that came from those that Annabelle hadn't killed yet.

If it wasn't bad enough that Annabelle had practically pranced through the home with a nearly dead family member in her arms, it was the fact that she laughed every time their muffled screams grew louder.

Kol, on the other hand, only stared at the struggling family members, while Annabelle's laughter grew louder each and every time that she dropped yet another member of the family onto the floor.

After spending several different occasions witnessing Annabelle's brutal acts as she slaughtered several different families, no matter who they were and whether or not they actually did something to her, Kol couldn't help but feel unbothered, while he watched Annabelle practically bask in the attention that she was receiving from the horrified family.

He knew well enough what acts like these did for Annabelle, so he didn't bother to stop her, while she picked up the head of a young woman that she had recently killed and shoved it into one of the family member's faces.

He was just about to walk away from the remaining family members to see if they had anyone else that they were keeping hidden from him and Annabelle, only to stop when he no longer heard Annabelle's voice.

He quickly looked over at Annabelle and saw that she was now heavily shaking as she quickly clenched her hands into fists.

His eyebrows furrowed before he sped towards Annabelle and lightly grabbed her shoulder.

When she didn't turn her attention over to him, he asked her, "Annabelle? What is it?"

When she didn't respond, he looked down at where she was staring to see that she was staring at the head of a young teenage boy that was staring up at her with lifeless eyes.

He didn't quite understand why she was staring at the head with wide eyes and why she was shaking so heavily.

It wasn't until he actually looked at the teenage boy's head that he saw the similarities in the young boy to one that had meant far too much to her.

Just as he was about to ask her another question, she quickly raised her head and glared at the wall in front of her before her veins came onto display and she turned around to stare at the struggling family members.

Without saying so much as another word to them, she quickly sped towards them and tore them all into several, small pieces.

Kol sighed as he looked away from Annabelle and back down at the head of the teenage boy.

As he stared down at the teenage boy's head, he couldn't help but remember the one point in their lives as vampires where she had actually regretted killing someone.
