Chapter thirty-four; Cousin 'love'

''Goddammit Hood! Stop!'' Jasmine shouted urgently catching up to Robyn. She strained her muscles only so little more to grab Robyn's wrist making the brunette stop completely. She tugged on her arm making her best friend turn around with a fearful expression.

''What the hell are you doing!?'' Jasmine urged her features a mixture of anger and disbelief.

Robyn cast her eyes down at the snow-covered ground beneath them. Jasmine loosened the grip on her wrist and rather held her hand, dropping the angry voice. Guilt was sipping into Robyn and she could not with no matter how much will power look up at her friend. She felt embarrassed she got caught.

''Robyn,'' Jasmine said softly. ''You've never cheated before, what is going on?''

Robyn had to breathe in deeply and then let it slowly out. Once she looked up Jasmine noticed she had teary eyes and she looked guiltier as ever. Even more than the time she tried to teach Jasmine a couple of spells for the exam and decided to have some fun so she made her bald. And it didn't wear off for several hours. Jasmine frowned at her state and she didn't hesitate not even for a moment to wrap her arms around her frame and bring her into a hug.

''I don't know,'' Robyn muttered quietly in her shoulder as Jasmine comforted her.

The light brunette sighed through her nose. She released from the hug and held her friend at arm's length. ''You need to get down there and break up with Caspar. And spare him the details, just say it's over, it's the least you can do for him.''

Robyn nodded slowly and let go of Jasmine completely. She swiped under her eyes quickly and put on a fake determined face. Jasmine watched her descend back down the hill having her own peculiar thoughts of the situation. She hoped she'll be nice enough to Caspar, he already lost the game today, now he's going to lose a girlfriend too. Jasmine didn't oppose Robyn being with Sirius, just the timing seemed to be very wrong.

Maybe Robyn liked the attention of the opposite sex but Jasmine never believed she would be with two at the same time. Her eyebrows creased at thinking to what extent did Sirius have an effect on Robyn. And she on him as well probably. Jasmine hugged her arms close to herself and slightly shivered as she trekked up the rest of the hill and towards the inside of the school. Her destination was her dorm and her warm bed where she wanted to spend the rest of the day. Her quest, of course, couldn't be fulfilled since Saturdays were the time for students to spend either outside or in the halls just hanging around so Jasmine was bound to bump into someone familiar.

This time it had to be the worst of them all. The Hufflepuff kept on walking as if she hadn't noticed anything and hoped that she would be able to get by without an interaction. She internally groaned when William stepped into her view and stopped her from walking further.

''Hello, cousin.''

Jasmine narrowed her eyes at him. He was wearing one of those stupid mischievous smiles, stating that something evil was going through his head. Her eyes flickered to the spot where he was previously standing. She noticed two other boys leaning on the large windowsill, one Ravenclaw like William and one Slytherin. Both equally as confident and malicious as William, also lean and well-groomed. Jasmine scoffed at the way these boys were carrying themselves around the school.

William wasn't necessarily their leader, but once it came to terrorizing Jasmine, he sure as hell took the upper hand. She didn't know the names of the other two, she only knew that they always stuck together and were somehow in their screwed up heads really close. Jasmine took a step to the right and tried to get past but William foresaw what she was doing and he stepped in her way again.
