Chapter forty-four; Flowers

▴ ◃ ▾ ▹

The whole day people were in very good spirits and because that was the majority they overshined those who were sad because they didn't get their own Valentine. Robyn and Jasmine were laughing and walking from a class back to their dorm. Robyn was just explaining how Sirius, like the majority of guys, forgot that Valentine's day existed or that it was so much more important for girls than for guys. She made fun of him at first but didn't hold a grudge against him as she put it into words 'he made it up to her with something else'. Jasmine laughed at their weird connection that they have and constantly wondered if Sirius is the same to Robyn as he is when he talks to her during the night. Their path was soon crossed over by someone who made both of them drop their smiles immediately.

''William,'' Jasmine said with a strain to her voice.

William stood in front of Robyn and Jasmine, his arms crossed across his chest and he just stared at them with a flat facial expression. The expression that told Jasmine like she was supposed to speak and he expected her to know exactly what. His eyes moved then to Robyn and he was, with a long sigh, telling her to leave. But Robyn for once didn't step away, her hand raised and she firmly wrapped it around Jasmine's arm silently telling her she's there for her and she isn't going to leave. Jasmine wanted to smile appreciatively but the situation didn't allow her too.

''Who gave you the flowers?'' Was the question leaving William's mouth immediately.

Jasmine took a deep breath but didn't break eye contact. She kept boringly staring at her cousin with a tinge of anger building up inside her. ''Why do you care?'' She fired back not putting up with his difficult attitude.

William's hand was twitching like he wanted to grab the wand from his pocket and aim at her. Suddenly a scary calmness washed over him as he almost smiled, but not in a nice way. ''That's a good question Jazzy, why do I care. I don't, either way when I'm sending a letter to dad tonight you're going to be the one punished for getting boys' attention.''

This time Jasmine reacted in too much of a way that told William he was on the right path. She knew he was right and her winded eyes proved of the fear behind his words. Robyn's grip on Jasmine tightened and the light brunette could feel how Robyn was getting frustrated too.

William got back to his arrogant self as he instead of crossing his arms put them in his pockets and looked at them as if he was something better than them. ''Or I keep my mouth shut, only that would mean you would have to tell me which lame horny guy brought you flowers.''

Jasmine was keeping herself neutral, not giving him any more of satisfaction that he won. While on the other hand Robyn was full of anger and she showed it too. ''And what are you going to do with that information? Go punch a guy because of flowers, oh wait that would only make you look overprotective of Jasmine, now we don't want that do we? Or would you rather humiliate him in front of the whole school?''

Jasmine had to harshly grab Robyn by the arm and pull her back as she was getting into William's face with every word. William chuckled clearly enjoying the situation way too much.

''I had something else in mind but thanks for the idea, Robert.'' He mocked and boasted.

Robyn clenched her fists tightly at her side and went to make a step but Jasmine held her back and narrowed her eyes harshly at her best friend making her stop. She knew that more than anything in the world Robyn hated about the way William always used the wrong name when calling her. Jasmine also knew that he only did it to provoke her and Robyn was easily provoked. This is exactly why she hated when friends were with her while she had to face William. They always somehow made the situation worse than it already was. Jasmine went to speak but was unable to as another person joined William's side.
