kageyama's pov—

the rest of the training camp went by in a blur.

no i'm serious. a literal fucking blur with a total of like 20 minutes—or maybe even less, please don't come at me—screen time in the anime.

yeah, exactly. a blur.

kageyama, who was getting ready to return to karasuno, decided to called her before leaving.

she picked up within seconds.

"what do you want?" came her voice.

kageyama had now gotten so used to hearing her voice that he can tell that she had just woken up.

"you lazy ass," kageyama scoffed. "you're still in bed, aren't you?"

he heard movement on the other side of the line before a response came.

"not anymore bitch."

he chuckled to himself quietly. "i didn't force you to get up."

"yeah but i figured that it's noon so—" kageyama heard her yawn. "so why'd you call?" she asked.

kageyama paused before answering. "no reason."

"aW you missed me, didn't you?" he heard her gleeful voice.

kageyama rolled his eyes. "shut up."

as kageyama walked through the training camp gym for the last time { or is it the last time?🌝 }, he said, "i've got to go. talk to you later."

"why did you call me if you're only going to talk for like a minute?"

"shut up," kageyama retorted. "i'm leaving now."

not hearing a response back, kageyama figured that she had ended the call—most likely in anger.

he walked over to to say goodbye to some of his friends he had made this week, when suddenly, kageyama heard her voice again.

"BYE!! TALK TO YOU SOON!!!!"

he cringed and glared at his phone as he realized she was still on the line. he ended the call abruptly, but not before her voice had already rang out in the large gym. everyone looked around to see where the noise had come from, but luckily, it didn't seem like anyone realized the source of it was from kageyama's phone.

just as he was about to text back an angry reply to her, kageyama heard one of his new friends call out to him.

"tobio-kun!"

it was miya atsumu, one of the best setters kageyama had met. his sets were so easy to hit, with the perfect steps, and his pinpoint aim—

"what are you thinking about?" atsumu asked him, breaking his chain of thought.

"nothing," kageyama replied, quickly pushing away the thoughts of wanting to beat atsumu in a real match, with his real teammates.

"that's weird, i thought i heard her voice a second ago— hm. i guess i must've imagined it," atsumu muttered to himself.

before kageyama could ask what the hell atsumu was talking about, atsumu started again, "here tobio-kun. take my number."

he smiled at kageyama. "text me. i think that we'd be good friends."

"thanks," kageyama said, taking the piece of paper with atsumu's number on it.
