a part of your heart was always in tokyo.

and being perfectly honest, that's something that will never change.

even though the last time you were in the city of dreams was months prior, it felt like a part of you had never even left.

forever, it will be tokyo.

only a mere 7 hours by train and you were there.

with everyone you loved, of course.

normally, you would all take a plane (of less than an hour) to arrive at the beautiful city...

but this time, kageyama had planned for a train. to mark the start of something new.

a new era, as they say.

and even if the trip was almost seven whole impatient hours long, there was nothing that could ever sullen the moment.

sitting next to kageyama, you lightly leaned against his shoulder as you stared out the window.

"going to sleep already?" he whispered to you.

you smiled. "sue me. i'm tired."

"i should tell you that everyone is eyeing us right now," he leaned down as he brushed your hair out of your eyes gently.

you looked over slowly.

and indeed, all of your friends were looking from you to kageyama, and back to you. they didn't say anything of it, but it was obvious.

(god, it was so goddamn obvious.)

you could see atsumu winking—constantly, too, the devil spawn—at you as he sat next to sakusa.

and then there was lana and minho, shaking their heads in unison at you. seojun and yuna were smiling. as were kita and aran.

for a split second, you caught suna's eye.

he gave you a small smile before turning back and talking with osamu.

it was already a known fact that you and suna were going to be just fine. because a friendship like you and suna—nothing could ever get in the way of that.

even so... it's going to be messy. for a bit, at least. there will be bittersweet, there will be remorse, there will be empathy...and you knew it'll still hurt a lot, for suna.

but you were both going to be okay. nothing will ever change that fact.

because one day in the future, as you and your friends all grow old together, you and suna will laugh at the memories of your young, teenage days.

looking back out the window, you sighed in relief.

tokyo.

always a perfect adventure. which was fitting, for the perfect group.

"wake me up when we get there, 'kay?" you kept your head on kageyama's shoulder.

his hand brushed over yours ever so lightly.

"always."

if screams could be written in words, then they'd be written here. there would be ten whole pages of screams written across this very page—double sided, too.

but as it may be, screams in writing could only be formed from incoherent words scattered across paper.

so instead, we'll simply leave it at: you screamed.

you screamed out of pure and utter joy as you sprinted off of the train station. and off you ran, towards the friends you haven't seen in ages. (a couple months feel like a whole decade, sometimes.)
