it had to have been a mistake.
it simply must have been. because...there was absolutely no way.
your eyes scanned the email one, two, three times. and then once more, because it just couldn't have been true.
the same words stared back at you.
no matter how many times you scanned it, the words never changed.
and that's when it finally sank in.
it wasn't a mistake.
it. wasn't. a. mistake.
you stood up abruptly as the words replayed in your head.
disappointment.
failure.
incompetent.
it's not just as simple as a project failure. this was not just one, small fail. you were now suspended from all classes in pre-med.
as in, this was the failure of an entire academic career.
all those endless hours of hard work, gone. within that single instant.
no, this was no mistake. this was your life crumbling before your very eyes.
this was the entire world crashing down. and it was the entire world crashing down on you.
all because of one person.
one person that you trusted to be your friend—your own study buddy.
someone you felt so much adoration towards. sorry, correction: someone you had felt so much adoration towards.
nari had stabbed you right in the back.

"y/n...where are you going?"
minho panicked as he saw the look of complete fury on your face.
"move," you glared as minho moved to block your way.
"tell me what's wrong."
"i need to go find someone."
your voice shook as tears threatened to fall.
failure was something you've never experienced. (not when it came to school, anyway.) how would you? being the perfect, straight-a, 100% student meant that success was the only thing you've tasted all your life.
you were the student teachers wanted to teach. hell, you were the student they were honoured to teach.
but now, you're suspended—and you have to choose a new major?
it was suffocating. the pain in your chest was suffocating.
it was the suffocation of a million different thoughts and feelings, racing through you.
you may not cry about boys (fine. kageyama being the only exception), but you sure as hell cried about school.
"let's calm down and wait for yuna and seojun to return with some food," minho grabbed onto your hand, trying to get you to sit back down. "then we can talk this through before you do something you regret, 'kay?"
"no."
"y/n please—"
"i will say this one more time: get the fuck out of my way," you snapped, finding your head spinning as you continuously thought about the email.
