okay, so maybe not all things have to come to a stop.

we mustn't forget newton's first law.

and being a med student meant that you had to be a well-rounded student. which also meant that you knew all of your physics already by heart.

newton's first law comes down to inertia.

things in motion? they have a tendency to stay in motion. things at rest? they have a tendency to stay at rest.

that is the tendency of inertia.

and inertia itself is not a force.

however... there is one other main concept.

inertia occurs until there is an unbalanced force.

now, i know that we all are not here for a simple physics lesson (god knows we suffer for that through school already)...but this is important.

because it all came down to one thing.

you would've been staying at rest. in that crying, torn state. ...if you hadn't been acted on by an unbalanced force.

that unbalanced force being kageyama.

you stared up at the boy, with the tears still flowing from your eyes.

how many times has he seen you cry now? far too many to count, it seems.

you looked away from the one you ached for. there was no need to make things worse.

"i-i'm okay," you whispered, staring at the ground. "you can leave me alone."

you heard kageyama give a light scoff.

"like hell i will."

at those words, your eyes subconsciously met his again.

dammit.

yeah, maybe your self-control needed some work.

because after failing a whole assignment, the least you needed was to fall into kageyama's presence.

a presence you could never escape—a presence you never wanted to escape.

he bent down to meet you on the ground, keeping his eyes level with yours.

"come with me," he gave you a small nudge.

it would be so easy to. god, it would be so easy.

but it would also be even harder to forget.

and you needed to forget this aching feeling inside of your heart. so instead of listening to your body, you shook your head.

and you looked away again.

"please," you said slowly, not even caring if you were soaking wet from the rain. "please leave...leave me alone."

you could almost feel kageyama sigh. (in impatience, no doubt).

before you could even say another word, the world turned. in a single swift motion, you found yourself in kageyama's embrace.

he held you up from the ground, his arm snaking around your waist as he held you against him.

"you're coming with me," he gave you a soft smile. "please?"

he looked at you for consent.

and you knew that there would be no denying him.
not when you were this close to being swept away from your hell—when an escape from reality was right there. when he was right there.
