"you look like absolute shit."

"oh wow do i now? kindly shut the fuck up."

"he's right you know-"

you groaned, shoving suna and atsumu aside. "and i'm trying to find when in the fuck i asked."

you pushed past them, going back to organizing and setting up the courts.

it was seven in the morning, and you've been awake since five.

tsumu had forced you to facetime him at three am, and he had been screaming into your ears (from your AiRPOds ofc) all night about the whole 'online friend is kageyama' situation.

shoot me please😩

it was definitely obvious that you were in a bad mood, and getting less than five hours of sleep made it ten times worse.

and to top everything, you had to actually help the teams today.

"oi."

you spun around, unable to hide the annoyance in your voice. "what?"

"sheesh all i said was oi—why do you look like that?"

kageyama looked like he was trying to hold back his laugh as you glared at him.

you threw a volleyball at him. "fuck off."

instead of leaving you alone, kageyama proceeded to annoy you.

"why are you so angry?" he asked innocently. "it's not like i even did anything."

"well maybe that's the problem."

he chuckled. "you're always like this when it's early in the morning."

you thought back to the morning audio calls, and you had to admit that kageyama was right.

you were not a morning person.

at least not a morning person ninety-eight percent of the time.

the teams, most of whom had just gotten into the gym, were looking curiously between the two of you.

"y/n!" one of the karasuno players—sugawara, was it?—called to you.

you gave kageyama a dangerous look, as if signalling that the next person who talked to you was not going to get a happy reply.

kageyama luckily seemed to understand. "i told them who you are by the way," he added, before going off to stop his teammates from coming over.

you sighed as you continued setting up the nets.

but, a large part of you filled with happiness at the thought that you could finally talk to kageyama without fear again.

that happiness soon disappeared as you returned back to your work.

"you're y/n, right?"

a tall boy with spikey hair approached you. his hair was completely plastered on one side of his face—
