it's not that you hate university, per se.
it's just that the fact remains to be that you'd rather go to hell and back than continue another week of school.
the thing is, you're a good student. and sometimes, it feels nice to learn new things. and it's rewarding (#academicvalidation).
but other times, all you wanted was a break. other times, all you needed was a break. that described your life again as you packed up your backpack from another day of classes.
"hey."
already knowing the voice, you turned.
"hi," you smiled.
"i haven't seen you in a while," the tall blonde handed you a carton of strawberry milk.
gladly, you took it.
"yeah, well," you sighed. "haven't had enough time to spare to come visit the convenience store."
this was, of course, true.
with everything happening in school, from classes to tutoring to attending your friends' practices and still trying to make time for hobbies, it was hard to find time for some old routines.
so much so that it's been ages since you've seen terushima.
mostly because kageyama was now your supply of strawberry milk (he always brought you one wherever you two went). so, you didn't really have the need to buy one for yourself, anymore.
"i missed seeing you every morning," terushima pouted. "you're my friend, aren't ya? aren't friends supposed to visit, at least?"
you smiled.
in more ways than you could describe, terushima was the exact boy every girl wished for (actually, that might be akaashi. well then). not only was he kind and funny, he was also respectful. a trait that's seemingly hard to come by, these days.
no matter what, terushima always respected your decision.
and he respected the boundaries you made.
(king fucking behaviour.)
"mm. missed you too," your eyes gleamed.
it was refreshing to realize that some friendships will never change. since even if you don't see terushima for months, you'd still be able to remain good friends.
"did you just end class?" he questioned you with a smile.
"yep," you hummed. "finally. today has been hell."
"you have any other classes?"
"not today."
terushima's eyes lit up at your response.
"what do you say to a coffee date?" he grinned. "between friends, i mean. it's been so long since we've even had a chance to catch up."
immediately, you were about to say yes.
(who could ever refuse?)
before you got the word out of your mouth, another voice snapped you back into reality.
a voice that, despite everything, you still welcomed.
"sorry, teru. she's with me."
without evening turning, you knew. the voice was so familiar to the point that even at the slightest breath...you'd know.
"yeah," you sighed, turning to look at the boy who crept up behind you. "i have to tutor this one," you pointed towards kageyama with your eyes. (he gave you a lazy smile.)
