"I have loved to the point of madness; that which is called madness, that which to me, is the only sensible way to love." - Francoise Sagan

After a hard case, usually Lily would want nothing more than to go home, take a long, warm bath and sleep, but not that night. That night, instead, Lily hoped up in her car, not bothering to say her goodbyes to anyone and drove off.

She didn't give much of a thought about where she was actually going, since she thought she'd end up heading home either way, but when, 50 minutes later she realized she was actually parked in front of another building, she sighed.

"Shit..."

Reaching for her purse in the backseat, she pulled out her phone and pressed the button to call Oliver. Not three rings later, he picked it up.

"Lily!" He said, and she could almost see the smile on his face.

"Hey, Olly. How are you?"

"I'm good, but you don't seem well." He noted, as she sighed.

"I'm not."

"What happened? Having trouble catching the bad guy?"

It was a joke, she knew, but it hit her hard. She took a deep breath and decided to tell him the truth. She closed her eyes and leaned further against the seat.

"Actually, we're back already, but this was a tough case and I wanted someone to talk to and I ended up driving to your home instead of mine and now I'm here."

"Ow, ow... Wait a second, darling... Breathe." He said, on the other side of the line. "You're here where, Lily? Are you actually here, as in, my home?"

"Yeah. I'm parked just outside your building." She admitted, with a blush. Why did she drive here in the first place? "Listen, I didn't really think before acting and it was a stupid idea to come. I know you have school tomorrow and it's already late, so I guess I'll just..."

"You're not going anywhere." He interrupted her.

Lily could hear him shuffling around in his apartment and she frowned. What was he doing? Meanwhile, as she waited in her car, Oliver got up from his couch and opened the door as he pressed the button on the elevator so he could go talk to her properly. He kept doing small talk with Lily to calm her down all through the two minutes between his house and her car.

"Okay, now, turn off the phone." He said suddenly.

"Why?" She asked, but it was too late. He had already hung up.

Lily frowned as she stared at her phone, and jumped startled when she heard someone knocking on her window.

"Cause I'm here." He chuckled as she noticed the scare he had given her.

"Oliver!" She squealed, as she turned off her car and opened her door, throwing herself in his arms for a much needed hug. "I'm sorry to bother you, it's just..."

"You're not a bother, Lily." Oliver shook his head with a smile. "Now, pick up your purse and let me take you upstairs."

"It's late." She raised an eyebrow as Oliver shrugged.

"I don't care. You're more important than school. And don't even try to argue with me about this."

He chuckled when Lily closed her mouth and crossed her arms, waiting for him to grab her purse for her and locking the car again, as he guided her inside the building with a hand on the small of her back. Again, through the two minutes from car to apartment, they made small talk and when the elevator reached the fourth floor, Oliver guided her to the apartment 42, pushing the door open.
