"Death is the mother of beauty; hence from her, alone, shall come fulfillment to our dreams and our desires." - Wallace Stevens

Lily walked quietly inside the classroom, glad that Alec had always been a calm baby so she could sit him in her lap as she sat down in a chair in the back row, watching as Spencer walked in front of the board, giving his class as usual, completely oblivious to all the young girls not paying attention to a word he was saying but keeping their eyes glued to his every move.

"Ok, let's take a moment now to discuss the difference between a trigger and a stressor." Spencer said, as Lily chuckled quietly when Alec pointed at Spencer with a smile on his face and a few babbles in his sweet baby tones. "A trigger is a sensory event experienced by an offender that precipitates subsequent behavior, whereas a stressor is a longer-term pattern of behavior or circumstances which push a person into behaving differently than they normally would. You're probably gonna want to write this down. I shouldn't be telling you guys this, but I'm definitely putting this on the final."

Lily bit back a laugh at the way Spencer frowned when he noticed very few people were writing down anything at all, but, eventually, a girl spoke up.

"I'm only auditing this class." She said.

"Is anyone else auditing this class?" Spencer asked, and Lily smiled when about half of the students raised their hands. "Ok. Unfortunately, that is all the time we have for today. Thank you, guys."

Lily waited for a few seconds, as most of the students walked out of the classroom before placing Alec in her hip and walking over to Spencer. So focused on fixing his stuff in his bag so he could leave, he didn't even notice the two of them. That was, until a girl cooed at the sight of Alec, causing Lily to stop for a minute to let her admire their baby. Spencer lifted his head at the sound then, smiling as soon as he found his fiance and son standing there and walking over to them to meet them halfway as soon as his students rushed out when they realized the two of them wanted to have a conversation.

"I wasn't expecting you here." Spencer said as he stood in front of the woman, taking Alec from her arms when he extended his hands out to him.

"I wasn't going to come." Lily shrugged, smiling back at Spencer as she watched him bouncing Alec in his arms a little to get a giggle out of him. "Maybe I should just audit the class too, though."

"I didn't know so many of them were just auditing." Spencer said, as Lily scoffed with a laugh.

"Of course they are." She said. "Why wouldn't they with such a hot professor anyway?"

"I... I don't... That's not..."

"It's fine." Lily smirked a little at the blush over her fiance's cheeks. "It's not their fault you look good when you talk about something you know so much about."

"Lily..." Spencer sighed, only to smile a bit when Lily laughed.

"Okay, I'm sorry. I'll stop." She promised. "I need to tell you the reason why I came anyway. We need to go home."

"Why?" Spencer frowned. "Is something wrong?"

"Well, not really." Lily sighed. "But Luke called."

"Thank you, all of you, for coming." Emily said, as she stood in front of everyone as they finally reunited in Spencer and Lily's living room after the few weeks during which they had all been scattered and Lily had been, well... Unemployed. "I've missed this, us. Before we do this, I need to be sure everyone understands what we're getting into. We have been told not to investigate this case. If we do, we are violating direct orders, and eventually Barnes will find out. So, if something goes wrong or we don't catch this unsub, she will shut down the BAU and most likely fire all of us. No more reassignments."
