Nelson x Reader: Accident - Part 1

Nelson's POV

I stare at the interviewer before me while they ask me questions about Syntec. I never wanted to do the interview in the first place Wesley insisted that I needed to. I still wasn't going to until a scientist with the biggest e/c eyes agreed with him that I reluctantly agreed to do the interview. I answered each question the best way I could in order to shine a good light on Syntec. It was going well until someone ran onto the stage interrupting us with some grave news.

"Mr. Syphus. I'm so sorry for interrupting but Mr. Nathaniel just called us. There was an accident at Syntec." The person says.

"What?" I almost panicked.

I quickly grabbed my things and rushed out of the building to head back to Syntec Location 1. As I drove I attempted to call Wesley. I growl in frustration throwing my phone across the car as Wesley doesn't answer. As I got closer to the building I could see smoke spilling out the front doors of one of the buildings. I quickly parked the car and ran over to Wesley who was standing outside talking to a firefighter.

"What happened?" I ask panting.

"A chemical explosion caused a fire in the building," Wesley answers quickly.

"Did everyone get out safely?" I ask scanning the area to find my favorite e/c eyed scientist. Wesley goes quiet as he looks at me upset. "Wesley, where's Y/N?" I look at him, noticing a sad expression on his face. "Don't tell me she's still in there"

"She and Deb both are," She says.

"Fuck" I mumble taking off towards the building despite my partner calling my name. I quickly put my arm to my face blocking some of the growing flames as I stepped into the burning building. I quickly notice Deb as I grab her arm "You okay?" I ask her. She nods. "Where's Y/N?"

"She's right be-" Deb says, turning around. "She was right behind me I swear"

"Get out to safety I'll find her. Wesley is looking for you" I say, pushing her towards the entrance.

I look around the area before I move deeper into the burning building "Y/N!" I call out to her. Getting no response I start to panic as I move deeper into the building back towards the laboratory area. "Y/N! Darling yell out if you can hear me!" I yell.

I hear coughing causing me to quickly turn the corner. I noticed her struggling to get out from under a beam that had fallen down onto her. I run over her and kneel down beside her.

"Nelson?" She says looking up at me. "You need to get out of here"

"Not without you," I say as I try to move the beam of her. Y/N cries out in pain as the beam moves. "Shit. Y/N I'm gonna have to pick it up so you can crawl out" I quickly notice how close the flames

I feel her grab my arm "Nelson go. You need to get out of here. I'm not worth it"

Tears stream down my face hearing those words slip from her lips. "Yes, you are! You are worth it. I'm getting you out of here!" I say loudly. I grab the beam and pick it up. The adrenaline running through my system allowed me to pick it up enough for her to slide herself out from under it. I slip my arms underneath her as I pick her up pulling her to my chest. She coughs as the smoke gets thicker around us. "Just hold onto me tightly," I say to her. I run through the burning building feeling her grip tighten around me. I finally see the light outside as I walk out of the front door. "I need the paramedics over here" I shout.

Multiple paramedics run over with a stretcher. I set her down on the stretcher gently. She looks up at me lovingly as I grab her hand to hold it in mine. "You mean the world to me. I will never leave you and I will always be there to save you." I said to her.

I watch as a small smile forms on her face. "I love you," She says to me.

"I love you too," I say to her as the paramedics slide an oxygen mask onto her face.

I watch as they put her into the ambulance to take her to the nearest hospital.

"Go with her" I hear my partner say from beside me. "Deb and I can handle it"

"Thank you," I say before climbing up into the ambulance behind the paramedics.
