Matthias x Reader: Survivor - Part 1

Matt's POV

I looked at Woods who was standing in the doorway of his bedroom. We had just found two patient files in his room that he had taken from the filing cabinet we had found in the storage unit.

"Woods, Why do you have these?" Sam asks.

I was furious at him "You stole evidence and then tried to quit because it was too close to home." I say to him,

"Okay yes, I stole it," Woods says looking at us.

"Why? Why steal evidence that I'm assuming is from the filing cabinet that we found and then quit?" I ask him

"Because I know these people. One was a very close friend of my family. I remember her being at every family event and then one day she disappeared." Woods explains.

"And the other?" I ask.

"Her name was Y/N. She was my best friend. We basically grew up together. She was at another friend's house one day and then gone the next." Woods explains.

"She was taken?" I asked.

"We all assumed she was kidnapped since her parents had no clue what happened to her. She's been missing for about 15 years at least" Woods explains.

"How old was she when she was taken?" Bailey asked.

"She was 10" Woods answers. He moves to pick up a picture off his desk.

He holds it out to me. I take the picture and look at it. It was a picture of woods and this girl when they were really young.

"So she's 25-26 now?" Sam asks.

"She would be 26" Woods answers.

I hand the picture to Bailey who almost instantly recognizes the girl.

"I've seen her before. She doesn't look that different from this picture, obviously just older" Bailey says.

"You have?" Woods asks.

"Yes. She works at a coffee shop near my house. I don't think she is going by her real name though" Bailey explains.

"Do you think she would be willing to come to talk to us about her experience at Syntec?" I ask Woods.

"She might. Y/N was always willing to help those in need although if she is going by another name I'm not sure she wants to relive those days." Woods says.

"Why don't we go over to the coffee shop and see if she is working." Sam suggests.

"I saw her this morning so if we go now we might be able to convince her" Bailey says.

After deciding to go see this girl, we all got in my car and drove over. Sam switched to a smaller camera as we headed inside. Bailey points out the girl she was talking about. She was busy making the current customer their coffee, biting her lip in concentration. I must have been staring because Woods elbowed me.

"Stop staring man" Woods stays to me. "Why don't you guys sit down? I'll go order something so I can talk to her."

We nodded as Woods walked over to the counter. The girl's eyes immediately meet Woods. They quickly widen in recognition.

"Woodland?" We hear her say.

"Hey, do you have a few minutes to talk?" We hear him ask her.

"Yeah, I get off in 5 minutes if you don't mind waiting," She asks.

Woods nods and walks back over to us sitting down in the free chair. "She gets off in 5 minutes"

After waiting the 5 minutes, the girl walks over to us with her apron over her arm. "Hi" She says to us.
