Matt x Reader: Let Me Love You

I sigh as I lean back in my chair scrolling through past text between Matt and me. It was clear that Matt had feelings for me, but I was so scared to show him that the feelings were mutual. Relationships in the past weren't exactly fun. Between the abuse and degrading, I was scared to even set foot into another relationship. So when Matt mentions dates I always kinda just walk away without answering.

"Y/N," Matt says knocking on my door frame since my door was propped open.

"Hey. What can I do for you?" I ask.

"Can you meet me in the conference room for a second?" Matt asks.

"Umm," I say checking my schedule. "Yeah I can"

I get up and walk over to the conference room with Matt. He closes the door behind me. "have a seat" He says.

I sit down in one of the chairs before he comes and sits next to me. "Am I in trouble?" I ask.

"No Y/N you're not in trouble. I just wanted a place to talk to you in private as well as show you this" Matt says.

"Okay?" I ask.

Matt plays a video for me on his laptop. I watched pictures of myself with the team here as spellbound. Even behind-the-scenes videos played. I smiled as I watched them remember the good times. The song that played in the background was Let Me Love you (Until you learn to love yourself) By Ne-Yo. When the video ends, Matt reaches over and grabs my hands gently.

"Y/N I did this to show you that how you've been treated in the past isn't how I'm going to treat you. I want to show you how you are supposed to be treated. As the queen, you are" Matt says.

"Matt..." I say. "I can't. I won't be a good girlfriend not after what I've been through"

"Y/N," Matt says grabbing my face gently. "In my eyes you are perfect. You would be the best girlfriend if you just let me show you"

"Matt..." I start to say.

"I love you Y/N. I'm so in love with you. From the moment you walked in spellbound for the first time." Matt says to me. "I would give up my company for you. I would give it up if it meant showing you that I love you more than anything."

Tears spilled down my cheeks as I took in his words. "I'm scared Matt... Scared I won't be enough for you. I'm scared that you are going to eventually get tired of me"

Matt whips the tears from my cheeks. "You are enough for me, Y/N. Everything about you is perfect and exactly what I want" Matt says to me. "Give me a chance to show you that I want you by my side for the rest of my life"

I search Matt face for any indication that he was lying. I sigh when I find no indication of him lying. I could see all the love he held for me in his eyes. "Okay" I say to him.

"Okay?" Matt asks

"I'll give you a chance" I say to him.

Matt smiles as he looks me over "Can I kiss you?" He asks causing me to nod. Matt pulls me into a deep kiss. He pulls away and rubs his thumb against my cheek "I love you and you don't have to say it back"

"No Matt. I do love you. That's why I'm scared of being hurt by you." I say to him.

"I will never hurt you. I promise" Matt says to me.

I nod believing him as I lean in to kiss him again.
