Matt x Reader: Syntec's Daughter

Being Nelson Syphus's Daughter wasn't exactly easy. I had this high expectation to take over my father company, however that wasn't what I wanted to do. I wanted to be video editor which was why I join Spellbound when it was first hi5 studios. I loved my job and I loved my coworkers, however my past and my fathers compant has recently started to pop up.

At first it was a key found in the ceiling but now... i was about to be pulled into the office by Matt who had questions about my last name.

"Thank you for meeting with me Y/N" Matt says smiling at me softly.

"Of course" I say sweetly. I had always had a soft spot for Matt. "Im sure you gave alot of questions for me"

I sit down across from Matt in the conference room. He had cameras up to record our interactions.

"Okay so first question, you are related to Nelson Syphus correct?" Matt asks me.

"Yes, he is my father" I answer.

"Did you know that this location was Syntec before joining Spellbound?" Matt asked.

"No, when I first applied I didn't know. It wasn't until the interview that I figured it out" I explained.

"How come you never explained this to me before?" Matt asks.

"I don't associate with my father. He once wanted me to take over Syntec however I never really agreed with his work. I broke off connection with him shortly after I graduated college so I could be my own person" I explained.

"Wow, I didn't realize you completely cut your dad out of your life." Matt says to me.

"I don't want to be compared to him just because we share a last name. Im nothing like him. What he did and is doing is wrong. You and I both know this" I say to him.

Matt smiles at me hearing my answer. "Im glad you're nothing like him. Makes what I want to do next so much easier" Matt says as he gets up and walks around to me.

Matt turns the camera off before placing a hand on my face gently. My hear fluttered with anticipation as Matt leans down towards me. Our lips graze slightly. The door quickly opens causing Matt to pull away from me.

"You two need to come to main door" Woods says breathing hard.

"What's going on?" Matt asks.

"He's here. Nelson Syphus is outside." Woods says.

I quickly get up and walks to my office. I grab a bat i had been hiding in there before heading downstairs. Matt follows me down the steps. I look out to see my father standing outside the door with his arms crossed. I growled as I open the door and stomp towards him.

"Ah just the person I wanted to see" My father says.

"Leave" I growl swinging my bat at him which he dodges and grabs.

"Enough Y/N." My dad growls "I have been patient with this game you've been playing now it's time to stop. It's time to take your place next to me so you can take over Syntec"

"I don't want to take over Syntec! I hate that company with a passion!" I growl. "You're work is wrong and you know it"

This pissed my father off. "I wish I didn't have a daughter like you!" He growls at me "You are such a major disappointment. I wish you're mother didn't keep you like we originally planned."

"What do you mean originally planned? My mom always wanted me" I saud hurt lacing my voice.

"You think we wanted a girl! We wanted a son so he could take my spot but Wesley convinced us that you would be as to do it so we kept you. Then you're mom left me. Leaving with a pathetic daughter like you" Nelson says.

"I suggest you leave before I call the cops" Matt says stepping up behind me.

"Ah Matthias, nice to finally meet you." Nelson says changing his tone.

Tears spilled down my cheeks as I stared at my father. The words he said stung my brain and made my head fuzzy.

"I won't warn you again, Leave." Matt growls.

I yank the bat out of my fathers hand. I quickly swing it as hard as I could into his side. "He told you to leave! Now leave before I smash your scull in" I scream.

My father backs up from me holding my side "This isn't over" He says before turning to walk away.

I chuck my bat at him as I screamed in angry and pain. Matt quickly pulls me into a tight hug.

"Sam! Clear my schedule I'm taking Y/N home" Matt yells before leading me to his car.

Matt drives me back to his place after explaining he didn't feel safe with letting me at my house. Matt let's me inside before sitting me on the couch. He sits next to me and holds my hands.

"Hey don't listen to what he said its not true" Matt says to me.

"What's not true? Me being a pathetic disappointing excuse of a daughter or my mom not actually wanted" I say looking up at him.

"Both of those are not true" Matt says. "You aren’t a disappointment. You are so amazing, smart, and kind. As for you mom, Y/N she passed away when you were young. Don't let him taint the memories you have of her"

He hands holds my cheeks gently as he wipes the tears off. I knew right then and there that I loved him. I reach forward and gently grab Matr's shirt. I pull him to me kissing him gently. Matt almost immediately kisses me back. His arms wrap around my body pulling me to him.

When we pu away he smiles at me "Im so glad you feel that way about me" Matt says teasingly

"Shut up" I say laughing.
