Nelson POV

I watch Scott Clarick and Gary Reynold struggle to hold onto our newest trial patient. The girl they held was stronger than anyone else that has been brought into Syntec to be a trial patient.

"Let go of me!" The girl screams as fights with the two men holding her.

"We got a feisty one," Gary says smirking at her. "Hold onto her tightly Clarick"

"I'm trying Gary," Scott says.

I watch the girl's head butt Scott which causes him to loosen his grip. She turns to Gary and launches herself at him. I smirk watching them fight to get her under control. They finally get her under control and into the room she would be staying. When they come back out, they nod to me to let me know that she was ready. I walk into her room and look at the girl strapped down to the table. She was trying to get out.

"There is no use in trying to fight. You aren't getting out" I say to her

She stops struggling and looks at me, "And who the hell are you?" She spats

"Nelson Syphus" I answer as I pick up her file from the counter.

"No! Get away from me! You're the reason I'm here" She screams.

I walk over to her "Let's see" I say looking over her file. "Name is Y/N L/N. Age is 29. Height is {height}. Weight is {weight}. Vitals were normal upon arrival which is good." She starts to fight against the restraints again. She screams in frustration. "I told you, you aren't getting out"

"I'm never gonna stop fighting" She growls.

"Good. You will need that strong fighting spirit when the serum is injected." I say as I walk over to grab the syringe off the counter. I walk back over to her. "This is gonna hurt. A lot." I inject the serum into her arm.

Her screams fill the room as she arches her back in pain. I watch her vitals to make sure she doesn't go haywire. She eventually passes out and relaxes. Her vitals goes to normal. I write down a few notes on her file before leaving the room.

Over the next few months, the girl stopped fighting the injections, if they were coming from me. If injections were done by anyone else the scientists typically came out of her room with bite marks or scratch marks. I walk into her room to see her sitting up reading. Cuffs were connected from her wrists to the bed.

"Who did you attack now?" I ask seeing the chains on her.

"Reynolds" She answers.

"You need to stop doing that," I say as I unchain her.

"I don't like him. He harasses me whenever he is in here" She says not looking up from her book.

"How's the book?" I ask as I check her vitals.

"Good." She says looking up at what I was doing "It's time isn't it?"

"Unfortunately," I say to her as I pull out the syringe.

She sighs as she bookmarks her page and gets her book aside. She holds out her arm to me which I grab gently. I could tell she was nervous as she turns her head away from me.

"Hold on," I say stepping back from her. I walk over and lock the door before walking back over to her.

I take her arm again and inject the serum into her. She immediately starts to scream as pain courses through her. I set the synrine aside before I pull her into my chest. Her hands grab my lab coat tightly as I move to sit with her in the bed. I wrap my arms around her holding her tightly against me. She continues to scream into my chest, her hands tightening on me. She eventually passes out from the pain, slumping against me. I check her vitals while I continued to hold her in my arms. Once I knew, her vitals were normal, I lay her down on the bed. I cover her up before moving to clean up and leave. I look at her once more before leaving her room completely.

I walk back to my office and sit down. I press my hands to my face as I think about Y/N and how close she and I have become. A knock on the door pulls me from my thoughts as Wesley walks in.

"What can I help you with Wesley?" I ask

"I just need you to sign Y/N's chart for today saying you did give her the injections," Wesley says holding out the files

"Right of course," I say taking the files. I sign them and hand them back. As Wesley starts to leave I stop him "Do you think it's possible to be in love with someone who you aren't supposed to be?"

"If you're talking about who I think you are then yes." Wesley answers "Nelson, it's always possible to be in love with someone even if you think you aren't supposed to be. Just think about if you actually love her because if you do love her then get her away from all this. Take her pain away"

I nod understanding. Wesley leaves, leaving me alone with my thoughts.

"Y/N is our strongest trial patient," I say leaning back in my chair. "Taking her away from her wouldn't benefit the company" I sigh pressing my face into my hands. "I won't say it then. I won't say that I'm in love with her."
