Wesley x Reader: I'm with you

I cover my mouth as I cover up a sob that leaves my lips. My phone pressed to my ear as my brother explains to me that our mom had passed in a fatal car accident. I wasn't prepared to hear that news after losing two patients that day due to the serum. When I got off the phone with my brother that was my breaking point.

I screamed in agony as I shove everything off my desk onto the floor in anger. How could the world be so cruel to me? I stand up quickly knocking my chair over. The room felt suffocating as I backed up into the corner. I slide down to the floor just as my office door opened to reveal a scientist who heard my scream.

They took one look at me before sprinting down the hall. They were most likely off to get my boyfriend, Wesley, who I knew was currently in the meeting. I slide my hand into my hair as I pulled myself into the tightest ball possible.

"Move" I hear Wesley yell before his footsteps run into my office. I am immediately pulled into his chest. "Shhhhh" His fingers run through my hair gently.

"What happened?" I hear Nelson ask as he walks into my office closing the door.

"A scientist just pulled me from my meeting saying she was screaming in her office," Wesley says as I sobbed into Wesley's chest "Y/N baby I need you to breathe. I can't help you if you can't tell me what's going okay"

I focus on Wesley's breathing until I was able to talk. "She's gone" I whimper.

"Who's gone, baby?" Wesley asks.

I look up at him as I start to cry harder. Nelson's phone starts to ring causing him to step aside and answer it. His eyes immediately went to me which meant my brother was talking to him about my mom's funeral most likely so I can have the time off.

"Yes, she can have the time off. I'll give Wesley the time off as well to be with her." Nelson says grabbing Wesley's attention. "Also, send me the bill for the service. I'll pay for it. As a gift to her for giving Wesley and me, Y/N."

Upon hearing this I pull away from Wesley. I through myself into Nelson's arms as I tightly hug him. "Thank you" I whimper.

"Her mom passed" I hear Nelson whisper to Wesley. "Take her home. You two have two weeks off starting now"

"Thank you," Wesley says gently pulling me to him. I grab the front of his shirt tightly. "Let's get you home, my dear"

The drive home was agonizing. I couldn't pull my mind away from my mom. The fact I couldn't say goodbye hurt more than anything in the world. When we pulled into the parking lot, I just sat there staring at the house.

"I know you are hurting, but you aren't alone. I'm with you" Wesley says to me.

I whimper as I start to cry. Wesley reaches over to hug me tightly. "I love you," I say. "I don't know what I would do without you"

"I love you. I will help guide you through the healing process." Wesley says.

Wesley guided me into the house. He helped me shower before successfully getting me to eat a few bites of food. He then laid me down in bed, laying down next to me. He plays with my hair gently as I press my face into his chest. My tired eyes flutter close as Wesley gently comforts me.

"Sleep my love," Wesley says. "I will be here when you wake"
