Nelson X Reader: Date Night

I yawn walking through the halls. I wave to those I walk by as I make their way to Nelson's office. This was my normal routine. Check with Nelson before getting the things I need to do done for the day. I knock on the door of Nelson's office and waited for him to say I could come in.

"Morning Y/N what can I do for you?" Nelson asks as I walk in.

"Just seeing what you have for me this morning as well as deliver these to you from Wesley, its the files for the new patients that are coming in" I say handing him a stack of folder.

"Oh thank you. I actually don't have anything for you this morning." Nelson says as he takes a quick glance at the files. "I do have a question for you though"

"Oh okay. What is it?" I ask.

"Would you like to have dinner with me on Friday?" Nelson asks.

"Is this for business reasons?" I ask.

"No I thought maybe I could take you on a date" Nelson says .

"You want to date me? Why me? You can literally have any girl you want" I say to him.

"The only girl I want is you." Nelson says causing me to blush.

"O-okay. Date on friday that sounds good. What were thinking?"

"Dinner and a movie at my place. Maybe even a sleepover" Nelson says winking at me.

I nod quickly "Sounds good. I um better get to work" I say quickly before leaving running into the door frame in the process. I laugh nervously before I leave his office completely. It finally clicked that I was going to be having a date with the Nelosn Syphus on Friday. I squeal in excitement before I ran to find Deb.

The week went by quickly and it was finally Friday. I sat in my office going over lab reports for the new patients. So far everything was looking good despite losing 3 others this week. However when the emergency alarm went off for another patient her heart dropped.

"No no no" I say quickly as I run down the hallway.

I almost ran into Nelson on my way. I mumble a quick apology before I continue down the hall.

"Out of my way" I yelled as I pushed into the patients room. I quickly notice the patient seizing and the other scientists not doing anything about "why are you guys just standing there"

I move around them as I pull the patient onto his side and protect his head. I dig into my pocket as I fish for a sedative. The patient stopped seizing the moment Nelson walked into the room. I hadn't even pulled the sedative out of my lab coat yet. I stare at Nelson in horror as I listened to the dreaded flat line tone.

Our policy was to not revive patients after they flatline. It was a stupid policy but one that we all had to follow closely. I gently laid the patient flat on the table.

"Time?" I ask.

"2:57" A scientist answers.

"Time of death: 2:57pm" I say.

I reach forward and pulls the white sheet over the patient covering them completely. I move to pass everyone. My eyes trained to the floor as I speed through the hallways. Once I make it outside. I collapse onto the nearest grass patch. Sobs wrack through ny body as the image of the patient seizing flashes across my vision. Arms wrap around me and pulls me into them. I instantly knew it was Nelson as i bury my face against his chest. He hands rub by back gently.

"That's the forth one this week, Nelson and.. and... the other scientists just stood there doing nothing." I sob.

"I know, my dear. I scolded all of them for that once you left." Nelson says to me. "Why dont we go home for the day?"

I sniffle as I look up at him "You'd go home early with me?" I ask.

"Anything for you" Nelson says to me.

I nod agreeing. I really could use a break after together. Nelson helps me off the floor and takes me into the building. He holds my hand as we walk to Wesley's office to let us know we were heading out.

"Hey Wesley?" Nelson says.

"Yeah?" Wesley says turning his attention to us.

"We are heading out for the day. She lost another patient so I thought it would be best to get her out of this place" Nelson explains.

"Of course. Im sorry for you lose Dr. L/N" Wesley says.

Nelson says goodbye to Wesley before taking me to my office to gather my things. After locking up my office we head to Nelson's so he could do the same. We then head to his car so he could drive us to his house. Once we were at his house, Nelson leads me inside, he takes my things before leaving to put them away.

"You're house is really nice" I yell to him as I walk around.

"Thank you Im glad you like it" Nelson say walk to me. "You know you could always live here with me if you like it so much"

"Nelson Syphus, asking me to move in and we haven't even finished our first date" I say giggling.

He kisses my check gently "I have a feeling that this is gonna last forever my dear" Nelson says sweetly. "Anyway I thought I would make that Chicken Lemom Pasta dish you loved so much that I had brought you for lunch the other week"

"Oh that sound amazing!" I say excitedly.

"Good, why don’t we get you something else to wear for the night?" Nelson says.

"Oh yes please" I say.

Nelson leads me back to his bedroom. He pulls out a t-shirt and a sweatshirt for me to wear. He leave me to change. I smile as change into it. I walk to the living room exploring some more while Nelson was in the kitchen. I soon find my favorite spot in the house, a window seat. I walk over, climbing up into it. I snuggle against the pillows on it as I look out the window.

"I see you found my favorite spot" Nelson says walking into the living room. He picks up a blanket off the couch and brings it over to me. He sits next to me throwing the blanket over us. "You know ive imaged us like this. Snuggled up looking out the window or reading together"

"Really?" I ask looking up at him.

"I can't imagine anyone else being in my life the way you are" Nelson says look down at me.

I bite my lip slightly before I lean up. I kiss Nelson gently. Nelson pulls me closer as he kisses back. I smile as I couldn't be happier here with this man in my arms
