Matt x Reader: Don't scare me like that

Matt's POV

When the studio started to fill with smoke, my mind drifted to the girl in one of the offices upstairs. I hoped she made it out of the studio as I helped usher people out the front door. When I made it out myself, I looked around for the familiar e/c eyes I had fallen in love with. When I couldn't see her I quickly walk over to Sam.

"Where's Y/N and Woods?" I ask quickly.

"I don't know. He was upstairs when it started to happen to get everyone out" Sam says.

"If he and Y/N aren't out here then that didn't make it out" I say quickly before sliding my gas mask on to run back into the building.

I run upstairs and into the conference room where I found Woods on the floor knocked out. Sam rushes over to help Woods as I go to check for Y/N in her office. When I find she's not there I start to worry even more. Sam rushing out of the conference room with Woods.

"He got the coordinates" Sam says.

I swear under my breath before helping get Woods out of Blue and into the parking lot. I look around the area again before I start calling out to Y/N.

"Y/N?" I call out looking around. My mind swarmed with thoughts as I continued to search for Y/N

"Matt!" I hear her yell as she pushed through the crowd.

"Oh thank god" I say as I quickly pick her up.

Eyes met our frames as I hold her tightly. I had just told her how I felt about her today so we weren't exactly out with our relationship. However, at this moment, I didn't care what they thought.

"Where were you?" I ask as I sat her back down on the ground.

"When I was coming down the stairs when I seen the red glow of the phantom's mask and so I hid in the armory until he passed so I could leave." She explains to me.

"I was so worried about you. Never do that again. Next time wait until I can come get you from your office." I say to her.

"I can do that" She says holding my hand tightly.

"I'm just happy your okay" He says to me.

"Is Woods okay?" She ask. "I seen him leaning on you"

"The phantom knocked him out to get the coordinates to the next location of Serum" I explain,

"Then why are you still here?" She says pushing me towards my car. "If you leave now you can probably beat him"

"You sound like Woods." I say grabbing her arms gently "You are more important"

I watch her face flush as she blushes. "Well I'm fine so go" She says.

I could see she still was shaken about the situation.

"You are not fine" I say to her. "What's wrong?"

She sighs "I just wonder what would have happened if I didn't hide. I just keep thinking about what would have happened."

"Well don't, because you are safe and you are in my arms." I say to her.

She nods looking up at me. I pull her into a deep kiss.

"Are you two dating finally?" I hear Woods yell.

Y/N and I laugh as we full apart. "Yes" I say.

She smiles up at me before pulling me into another kiss.
