"Hey" I hear my boyfriend say to me as he walks into my office.

"Hey, you headed to your meeting?" I ask looking up from him.

"Yep. I will see you when I get back from location 3." He says leaning down to kiss me gently.

"I'll be here waiting for your return." I smiling.

"I love you. Don't forget that" He says to me.

"I won't. I love you too" I say before watching him leave.

I turn back to the files in front of me. I was Nelson's Assistant which meant my workload was always large. I typically did late nights with Wesley since he was always around either helping me or doing his work as well. My office was close to the front of the building which meant I could hear almost anything so when the sickening sound of a gunshot goes off I was immediately out of my office to find out what happened. My stomach dropped seeing Wesley's car still sitting in the parking lot but the passenger door was wide open. I quickly push the front door open before running over to Wesley's car. Blood was splattered on the driver's door window. I quickly open the door to reveal Wesley fighting to stay awake, blood seeping from the wound on his stomach.

"Y/N..." Wesley says slightly.

"Shh. I'm gonna get you help. Don't talk and stay awake." I say as I pull my phone out. "Focus on me, baby."

I quickly call an ambulance before turning my focus to Wesley. I press my hand to the wound which causes Wesley to groan in pain. I apologize as I pull Wesley to my chest. The ambulance soon comes to pick up Wesley. The EMTs looked extremely concerned when they worked to get Wesley out of the car. I watched them get him into the ambulance. An EMT helps me into the ambulance with them so I could stay with Wesley.

I sit up by his head, his eyes focused on me. I gently play with his hair as the ambulance takes us to the hospital. I watched the EMTs work on getting the bleeding to slow down. I was nervous about the amount of blood he was lossing. He was doing well at staying awake for the time being but I knew it wouldn't last long. I could already see him struggling.

"I'm right here." I whisper to him tears filling my eyes. I had been trying to stay strong this whole time. "I love you. Don't forget that"

By the time we got to the hospital, Wesley had passed out. The EMTs work quickly to get him up to the OR. I was able to tag along until we reached the OR waiting room. This is where I knew I was going to have to wait until a doctor came to speak to me. I called Nelson to let him know what happened. Once I was off the phone with him, I dropped to my knees in the corner of the waiting room and finally broke down into tears.

After a while, footsteps came running toward me. Soon I am pulled into familiar arms. Nelson shushes me as he attempts to calm me down. I grasp ahold of his arm as I cry into his chest. Nelson rocks me softly. I was very lucky that Nelson was my best friend. He knew how much Wesley meant to me. Eventually, I was able to calm down enough to tell him what happened. He was definitely not happy to hear that his partner was shot in his company parking lot. He also let me know that he would find out who did it.

The doctor eventually walks into the waiting room. "Are you Mrs. Nathaniel?" They ask me.

"Yes. How is he?" I ask.

"Stable." The doctor say causing me to sigh in relief.

"Can we see him?" I ask.

"Yes. He isn't awake yet. His body went through a lot of trauma so be prepared for him to sleep for a few days. He is in room 276." The doctor says to me.

"Thank you so much," I say before grabbing Nelson's hand and dragging him down the hall.

"Slow down Mrs. Nathaniel" Nelson teases.

"Shush," I say blushing.

I walk into Wesley's room and quickly look at him. He looked pale but he was breathing. That was the only thing that mattered to me. I pull a chair up next to the bed and sit down. I was determined to stay here until he woke up. Nelson stays with me the majority of the time only leaving to bring me food.

It had been a few days since Wesley had been asleep. I had just woken up from sleeping. I stand up to stretch before leaning down to press a kiss on Wesley's head.

"I love you. Don't forget that" I whisper.

"I won't. I love you too" I hear Wesley whisper in a groggy voice.

I immediately started to cry seeing he was awake. I smile as I press a loving kiss to his lips which he weakly returns.

"You're awake. You are actually awake." I say sobbing.

"I could never leave you alone for too long," Wesley says.

"I love you so much," I say to him.

He smiles at me. "I love you too"
