Nelson x Reader: Experiment Girl

Nelson's POV

I was as Gary walks into a room before locking the door behind him. Not long after he entered screams echoed through the lab. Screams of an old employee who worked for me. An employee that one day disappeared until Wesley and I found out what happened to her.

Gary Renolds had taken it upon himself to start experimenting on her behind our backs. All because she was a "distraction" to me. She was never a distraction to me, just someone who brought me peace and happiness.

I waited until Gary left. I quickly walk to the room and unlock the door with the master key. I close the door behind me before turning to the girl strapped to the table. Her skin was pale and her eyes were dull, tired, and almost lifeless. Her head turns to look at me.

"Nelson?" She whispers.

"Shhh don't speak. I'm getting you out of here" I say as I work on getting the IV out of her arm.

"Why? Gary said you wanted me here" She says weakly.

I stop moving as anger fills my veins. I look down at her dull eyes. "Y/N no one approved for you to be an experiment. Gary did this on his own." I say to her before I work on her restraints

"Why?" She asks.

"Because you are a distraction to me," I admit to her.

I slide my arms under her sitting her up gently. I take my coat off snd slide it onto her small frame. I then pick her up completely. Pained whimpers come from her lips as I adjust her slightly in my arms. I carry her down the hallway. Wesley ran over to me with Deb seeing her in my arms.

"Nelson. You have something of mine" I hear Gary yell down the hall.

"Wesley take Y/N to my car. Deb goes with him and check on her." I say passing Y/N to Wesley. Y/N looks at me worriedly. I brush her hair out her face "I'll be with you in a bit"

I turn towards Gary who was walking towards us. Wesley quickly walks away with Y/N, Deb tagging along behind him. I grab Gary by the shirt and slam him into the nearest wall.

"How dare you?" I growl grabbing the attention of scientists around us. "You knew she was to not be experimented on."

"She was a distraction" Gary growls at me.

"She was not!" I yelled. "She kept my head clear. She made the days easier for me."

"Nelson!" I hear Wesley screaming running back into the building.."We need you. She's seizing"

"Shit," I say letting go of Gray before running out to my car.

Deb sat in the grass patch next to my car. Y/N had seemed to be calm at the moment. "I was able to sedate her. I'm not sure exactly what Reynolds was giving her but it's not serum. Serum wouldn't cause this" Deb explains.

"What has he been giving her?" I ask kneeling down next to Y/N.

"My guess as he was poisoning her I'm not sure with what though. The poison doesn't seem to be strong so she should be okay. He's been giving it to her for a while based on how she looks." Deb explains.

"Search the room she was holding and his office. I want what he used to be found and I want him fired" I say to Wesley.

Wesley nods as I pick the sleeping girl up. I slide her into the passenger seat and strap her in. I nod to Wesley and Deb before getting into the driver's seat and heading home. On the drive back, Y/N slowly starts to wake up. She looks around the car before her eyes land on mine.

"You're awake," I say to her smiling.

She doesn't say anything as she looks out the window. She lit up slightly seeing the sun. I roll the windows down for her which causes her to smile as the wind blows through her hair. Upon pulling up to my house, she had a bit more color on her face and her eyes were less dull. I help her into the house and lead her up to the bathrooms. I shower how the shower works.

"I'm gonna go to the store and get you clothes. You're safe here. I'll leave clothes on the sink for you before I leave" I say to her.

She nods before I head out of the bathroom. I walk to my bedroom and pull a shirt and sweatshirt out for her. I walk back to the bathroom and sets the clothes on the sink. I then leave to get clothes for Y/N.

Upon returning to the house, I could see her sleeping on the couch in the living room. I smile as I set the bags I had down. I walk over and gently pick her up. Her eyes flutter open to look at me.

"Sorry I didn't mean to wake you," I say to her.

"It's okay," She says softly as she nuzzles her head into my chest.

My heart flutters as I carry her upstairs to the guest room. I lay her down on the bed and cover her up. As I got to leave she grabs my hand.

"Please stay," She says to me.

"Okay. Let me go get changed" I say to her.

She nods and lets go of my hand. I walk away as I head to my bedroom to change. As I was pulling my shirt on I heard a thud coming from the guest room. I quickly run to see Y/N sitting on the floor.

"What are you doing?" I say to her.

"I heard something and it scared me." She whimpers "I tried to go find you but I barely made it out of bed"

I kneel down and help her off the floor. I help her back into bed before climbing in next to her.

"There," I say looking at her.

"Nelson?" She whispers.

"Yeah?" I say to her.

"Why am I really a distraction to you?" She asks.

I knew this question was going to come up eventually. I move and kiss her gently. She kisses back just as gently.

"Does that answer your question?" I ask pulling away.

She nods quickly before she snuggles into me. I wrap my arms around her pulling her into my chest. After a bit, I look down to see her sound asleep. I smile kissing her head gently.

"Sleep well" I whisper before falling asleep myself.
