Ben x Reader: Old Lovers - Part 2

I lean against the bathroom doorway as I watch my lover sleep. Ben and I had been seeing each other again since we were reunited. I look over at the tests that were sitting on the sink in the bathroom. I already knew I was pregnant but I wanted to have the test to add to the gift box I was making to tell him. I was nervous as to how he was going to react but I knew I needed to tell him as soon as possible. 

I walk back into the bathroom to pick up the desk, smiling at the two pink lines present on each test I took. I pick them up and bring them out to the box I had sat on the table. Inside was a sonogram of the baby growing in my belly, which I got at my first doctor's appointment. I had told Ben that it was just a yearly check-up but in reality, I had been late on my period for a whole month and wanted to find out if I was actually pregnant. Under the sonogram in the box was a onesie and note that said, See you in nine months, Daddy. 

"Y/N" I hear Ben call out letting me know he was awake. I quickly put the tests in the box before closing the box and heading to the bedroom. "Come back to bed," Ben says tiredly. 

I smile looking at him "I will but first I have something for you" I say. 

Ben sits up quickly looking at me. "You have something for me?" Ben asks looking at the box in my hands. "Is it our anniversary or something?" Ben grabs his phone to check the date causing me to laugh. 

"No" I say laughing. "It's not our anniversary. Just open it" I hand the box to him before climbing into bed next to him. 

Ben opens the box and looks inside confused. He gently picks up one of the tests as his eyes start to tear up. "Y-you're pregnant?" Ben asks as he picks up the sonogram next. 

"I was late by a month and I thought it was just stress because of everything going on so I made a doctor's appointment just to check. I didn't ask for you to go because I didn't want you getting your hopes up if I wasn't" I explained

"I'm gonna be a father," Ben says excitedly. 

"Your gonna be a father," I say smiling. 

Ben sets the box aside before grabbing me and pulling me into his lap. Ben kisses me deeply holding me close. I wrap my arms around him tightly. He slowly picks me up carrying me to the kitchen. He sits me down on top of the table so he can make us breakfast. He starts talking about planning for our baby to be here. 

"Ben," I say laughing. 

"What?" Ben says looking at me. 

"We have nines months to plan for the baby. Let's just focus on breakfast. I'm eating for two now remember" I say. 

"Right," Ben says turning his focus back to breakfast causing me to laugh.

"To be honest, I'm just glad you aren't mad," I say. 

"Why would I be mad?" Ben asks. 

"Because with everything going on. I know you feel like you can't protect me sometimes but you can and you are" I answer

"My love, I will protect you and our baby. I feel that way because I know what Nelson is capable of and I can't lose you or this baby" Ben says walk over to me.

"You won't. You are stuck with us" I say causing him to smile

"Good." Ben says kissing me gently "I love you so much"

"I love you too," I say back. 

Ben kneels down in front of me and lifts my shirt slightly so he could kiss my belly. "And I love you my little one"
