Patrick's POV

A knock on the door made me stop what I'm doing. He's here…

"Pai Pai!" The boy, Andre, run inside as I open the door of my apartment. He tried to climb me but he failed so he just hugged my legs like a koala.

"He's just excited I'm sorry," it's her mom, my paternal cousin. She called earlier if Andre can stay with me and I said yes. She said she'll just fetch him tomorrow morning for Christmas. It's good though, I can drag him there so there's someone who'll talk to me if I get bored or what.

"Pai Pai do you have some chocolates? Momma said you have lots of treats!" The boy moved and now he's standing straight and tilting his head upwards to see me.

"No baby, I said he works on a place with treats," her mom placed both of her hands on each of his shoulders.

"Oh, come on in. I'm sorry my place is messy I'm currently wrapping some presents—"

"Presents!" Andre run to the living room where he saw some rolls of holiday-themed wrappers and some boxes.

"No need, I just pass by. I have lots of meetings today and I really can't make it. I'm really sorry I need to leave Andre to you for Christmas Eve." I nudge her telling that it's alright.

"It's fine. I also miss him. He's not a nuisance to me though,"

"Hmm, isn't he a disturbance for your, you know, possible Christmas date?"

I was stunned for a second and denied her assumption.

"No, I don't have a date. I'll just go with my friends. It would be more fun he'll meet more brothers," I said and pursed my lips.

"Okay okay, I hope next time you'll go out and try dating, but it's up to you though, sometimes love hurts big time," she then glanced at Andre who's now holding a roll of gift wrapper and slashing the air like a sword.

"I'll be going then, Andre! Say goodbye to momma," she called Andre and the guy dropped the wrapper and run to his mother for a hug and kiss, "bye Momma, I'll be a good kid to Pai Pai," he said and then went back to slashing the wrapper in the living room.

"Patrick, gotta go, just call me if he's unbearable. Ding me if he'll buy something so you don't need to pay,"

"Alright alright. Enjoy your Christmas, have a date too," I answered and she just laughed at it.

"You too, Merry Christmas," and after bidding goodbyes, I shut my door.

After a while…
