Patrick's POV

["That's what I said, Patrick. It's obvious since that day in the store,"]

Over the phone, I felt Nine's pinch on my ear. We're having a group call but I can feel his presence beside me.

["You know he's just scared to jump into conclusions again, the trauma,"] it's Liu Yu.

["Now you're like that again,"]

["Because it's twenty-sixth already and the truce was now invalid,"]

["Fine little boy, by the way, Patrick. What are you doing now? Plans?"] It's Nine.

"I'm currently scrutinizing AK's gift and I just took an online lockdown first. Everything's giving me stress and I need some time to absorb it all completely,"

["That's a great move, now someone's flooding me with messages,"] Nine

["…"] Liu Yu, we just heard a sigh and then he hanged up.

"Bad mood?"

["I guess,"]

I shrugged at what happened and my eyes laid again on the jar. I already read almost half of it and it's a bad idea to do so, so I stopped and set it aside.

"The guy was making me shock and shock-er,"

["Guy number one or the number two?"]

"What, what the heck who is who?"

["You don't have codenames? I have codenames for the two,"]

"What is that? But anyway, it's AK. He wrote a confession on a paper star and collect it inside this jar. A hundred of it,"

I heard Nine's gasp and he didn't say anything. He's shocked, I get it why.

"Yes,"

["A hundred confe— damn dude that was so… effort,"]

"I have no idea he'll be this under his annoying personality,"

["Is this a hate-love?"]

"Don't ask me. You won't get any answer at this moment,"

["But let's have a talk,"]

"We're already having,"

["No, for real. Let's be serious and no dodging. You know for yourself if you're denying or not so,"]

"Hmm,"

["What can you say about AK? Generally speaking,"]

I paused a bit and all of the ideas that popped in my mind first was my answer, "he's annoying, he always ruins my day, he's spending lots of money and doesn't mind at all, he's like my shadow,"

["How about Daniel?"]

I suddenly remembered the time he confessed, I pursed my lips to stop myself from smiling.

["I think this talk would be better if we're face-to-face. I want to see your reaction and that long silence is suspicious,"]

"Alright whatever, Daniel is my friend, it's like a second-life friend because we once stopped hanging out and I used to like him secretly,"

["Why are you aggressive? And why did you enumerate the negatives, you're harsh,"]

["But anyway, what do you feel about the two, can you tell who's greater? I mean who you always think about?"]

"I'll leave it blank, I don't have an answer,"

["If that's the case, then we'll just hold that question and we'll go back if you're decided,"]

"Yep,"

["Oh by the way, where will you celebrate New Year's Eve?"]

I snapped and realized. Another question that has no answer. Maybe I'll be welcoming another year alone.

"I'm not sure, maybe alone?"

["I remember Oscar will fly on the thirty-first, so he'll fail to throw a New Year's Eve party, do you want me to fetch you so you'll celebrate with us?"]

"Uhh, if it's okay then fine. But would it be a hassle?"

["No if I'll come in advance,"]

"I'll think of that first,"

["Okay no pressure,"]

"Mmm,"

["So let's end the talk here, I need to go now,"]

"Yes, thank you for the time and patience,"

["Not so big deal, I share the same drama,"]

"You'll be telling your drama once you go back here,"

["Fine,"]

"Okay bye,"

["Bye-bye"] and then I hang up.
