I have decided not to end this book yet. God bless.

The storm is brewing.

Novalie:

"It's two weeks late but it's here." I grumbled as I laid down on the bed next to Sage. It's been a few days since I took the pregnancy test. I was so grateful that Sage forgave me for lying. I felt more secure and safe in our relationship ever since we started to talk more about our past.

"At the rate that we've been going, I think I brought it on." Sage chuckled as she wrapped her arms around me. I was laying on her chest, her hands rubbing my ass as I groaned from cramps. We were waiting for Claire to come back from her day out with Brooke for her birthday. It was a photo shoot that Brooke was working for and allowed Claire and her friends to tag along to meet some of their favorite models.

They went out to eat after so Sage and I were waiting until her, Brooke, and Anya got back to cut the cake we had as a surprise. Sage has been home all week so we did what we usually have been doing. We watched movies and cuddled, but of course it led to other things until I started to cramp from my period.

I felt so addicted to Sage's touch. I wanted her to touch me all the time and she didn't seem to mind. Of course we took breaks, but I just can't resist. Even at night, I always end up on top of her with my breasts in her mouth.

It just felt so good.

The doorbell rang and we both jumped out of bed before running downstairs. Sage lit the candles as I walked over to the door, smiling as the two numbers glowed in the now dark room.

"Happy birthday to you!" Both Sage and I screamed as we opened the door, Claire squealing while Brooke jumped.

"Thank you! Thank you! I had so much fun today." Claire giggled as she gave both Sage and I a large hug before looking at Brooke and Anya.

"They had a great time. I dropped everyone home. A whole lot of ice cream." Brooke chuckled  as Claire and Anya went to the bathroom to wash their hands. I grabbed the cake from Sage and she handed Brooke a bottle of water while handing me plates before we all walked to the living room.

"How are you feeling?" Sage asked and I nodded as I started to cut the cake into slices. Brooke sighed and shrugged as she kicked off her heels before rubbing her temples.

"He didn't make me sign a prenup so my lawyer is suggesting that I negotiate his assets. I don't think I should though."

"You do exactly what you feel is right. You know what's best for you and Anya. Make the choice that you know would be comfortable for the both of you." I responded causing both Brooke and Sage to look at me in shock. I usually stay quiet during their conversations out of respect but I just felt she needed to hear that.

I had to make many sacrifices in order for Claire and I to live comfortably. I rather us be alone and have our own than constantly feel uncomfortable and afraid that we'd get hurt, and with the way Austin was? I wouldn't want anything from him either.

"Thank you, Novie. Seriously." Brooke stated with a smile. I shrugged and nodded before smiling at Sage as she rubbed a hand up and down my back.

"But yeah, part of me wants to rob him dry as revenge, but then the other half wants to just say fuck it, you know? I don't want anything from that monster."

"You're such a Taurus." Sage chuckled sadly causing Brooke to laugh.

"What can I say? Extra riches will never hurt anyone."

"If I wasn't stripping for more than eight years, I'd agree." I chuckled causing both of them to laugh.

"Aw man, I know you were probably sore all of the time. I can barely twerk without groaning." Brooke scoffed playfully before sipping her water.

"Being a cheerleader had its perks. I stayed flexible."

"I hated cheer, but I'm a competitive bitch so I became the best captain they had."

We all laughed as we watched Claire and Anya walk back to the living room. I handed them their slices of cake and watched as they dug in with a smile on my face. It would be nice to have a birthday celebration. I've never really had one, but I always made sure Claire did. She would always tell me happy birthday and make me breakfast, but having a cake while people sing would really be amazing.

I think it stems from the disappointment I had as a young teen. My mom would always promise a party and a cake, and though I was old enough and knew better than to expect it. I still couldn't help but have a little hope that I'd at least get a cake. It never happened, though.

My thoughts were interrupted as the doorbell rang and we all looked at each other in confusion.  I stood and walked over to the door and opened it, my heart dropping in my stomach as the face that I haven't seen in years stood by the door. She was in a crème colored coat, her high heeled boots tall and complimenting her outfit and her purse.

Her hair was flattened with layers and bumps, her face beat with makeup to perfection. She stared down at me with her hazel eyes, her smile soft yet uncertain as the large diamond ring on her left ring finger shined so bright under the door light that I couldn't help but stare.

"Novalie? You okay?..Novalie who is it?" Sage asked as she walked over but I couldn't speak as I just stared at the woman who stared back with worry in her eyes. I felt like I was going to pass out. My lips wouldn't move as my entire body shook with dread.

But my blood went cold and ice filled my veins as I heard Claire say what I dreaded the moment I saw her standing in front of the door.

"M-mom? Is that you?"
