Mikkel lies awake, looking up in thought as he gently strokes Tiffany's cheek as she slept.

He huffs as he looks down at her, peacefully sleeping on his chest.

He looks at his watch, displaying the time to be 3:24 in the morning.

He gently sits up, softly slipping Tiffany on the pillow beneath him.

Then he carefully scoots out of bed and then out the door to the balcony, closing it behind himself.

He walks to the edge of the balcony, bending and taking a seat letting his legs dangle over.

Then, he reaches down, pulling a pack of cigarettes out from under the edge and opening them.

He places one between his lips and lights it, taking a deep inhale.

He lets out the smoke and a sigh of relief.

He thinks about his plans. His father, and the school he grew up in. His brother. His mother. His Tiffany.

He looks back, seeing Tiffany in his bed through the window.

He knew what he had to to. But he also knew what was at risk.

His father was probably the only person in the world that could kill Mikkel.

And, Mikkel's father is very good at killing.

Although Mikkel wasn't scared. Death was a thing he had eluted for so long, but it was entirely not his choice.

He takes another puff off his cigarette and leans down, looking over the edge.

....

Tiffany

I wake up, my head foggy.

I smile a bit as I nuzzle against the pillows that smelled of Mikkel.

I reach out in search of warmth and failing to find some.

I open my eyes, noticing I'm in an empty bed.

I frown and sit up, looking around for my heat source.

I see him out the window, sitting with his legs hanging over the balcony.

I stretch and grunt a bit before I scoot to the edge of the bed and slip out of it.

I open the door to the balcony, Mikkel looks up at me as I walk out.

"Are you okay?"I ask, rubbing my arms.

....

Mikkel up, seeing Tiffany exit the room wearing one of his t shirts and some house shoes.

He takes a deep breath.

"Lord have mercy."he says before looking away.

"Yeah I'm alright"

She waddles over and takes a seat next to him, looking out into the beautiful view.

Mikkel scoots closer and she lays her head on his shoulder.

He takes a deep breath and then speaks.

"I gotta go to Russia, tiff."he says.

Tiffany sits up, looking at him.

"I know what you're going to say."

"You don't have to-"

"I do have to go."he says, cutting me off.

"Mikkel your dad isn't even-"

"He will come."Mikkel says.

"I don't need you to be between my and Yosef, I don't need you seeing that."he says, making Tiffany sit up a bit more.
