"Freddy. What. The hell."
Freddy twiddled his fingers together nervously. A small grin, just barely noticeable, threatened to etch across his mouth. His eyes were frantic, yet calm, and strayed to any place besides your own. Next to him was Bon Bon, seated on the counter top separating you and Freddy. He looked more solemn--afraid--than Freddy did. You had seated the two at the diner in Circus Baby's, making sure Freddy sat directly in front of you to face you off as if you were an angry parent.
"So?" You prompted him again. Freddy jolted in his seat and his eyes snapped onto yours. Your eyebrows furrowed; you were getting fed up with his silence, and why he wouldn't tell you anything. "How do you expect us to have the relationship you want, when you can't hide something as big as your f***ing blueprints from me??!" You exclaimed, pulling out the blue piece of paper from your purse. Freddy's eyes looked down, no other movement radiating from his body. This was the rare instance that Freddy was completely still. You and Bon Bon had noticed almost right away.
"I'm not allowed to talk about this," Freddy spoke softly and uncertainly, as if he was deciding on the spot how exactly he would say this; or rather, if he should say this.
"Well, why not? If you're not allowed to talk about it, it seems like more of an issue than you're letting on. Heck, the fact that we've been sitting here for almost an hour is enough to tell me this is something big." You scowled in annoyance before smoothing out the furrow in your eyebrows.
"I want to tell you," Freddy spoke softly once again. "I really do. You deserve to know more than anyone, but..I'm afraid I'm going to lose you." Freddy's eyes went down to the table as he slumped over some. Bon Bon's hand smoothed over the bear's soothingly.
"I promise, whatever it is, we can work it out." You reassure Freddy. Your hand was soon to join Bon Bon's in relaxing Freddy. "I won't leave you, Fred. I thought we established that the moment I started to fall for an animatronic bear." A smile graced Freddy's face. A small one. But it was still a smile.
"Alright," he sighed. "But I'll need consent from the others if I'm going to tell you this." Bon Bon looked up at Freddy with an unbelieving, tragic gaping jaw.
"Wait, all of you are like this??!" You exclaimed, keeping your voice down just a tad bit to be heard in any other rooms.
"You don't have to yell. We're all here." Bon Bon said.
"WHAT?!!"
"Sorry, Y/N." Foxy stepped up from behind the main service counter, followed by Baby and Ballora.
"I apologize, Y/N."
"Me too. Sorry."
"No, no, it's okay. Just...please never do that again. Well, I guess this makes things more convenient." You huffed.
"We wanted to make sure Freddy didn't say all the wrong things. You've been in this job longer than almost anyone we've worked with before! We need, and want you, to stay." Baby explained.
You nodded.
"I'll do the talking." Freddy gestured to the other three animatronics. They gave you two a little more space. "I guess it would make more sense to start from the beginning. The founder of Baby's, Mr. Afton, had two sons and one daughter. One day, one of his sons got into a freak accident with one of his animatronics, Fredbear. Afton went crazy. He was convinced he'd lost everything until he saw the Fredbear suit start to move. He knew it was his son, somehow, who was in there. So there was hope."
"How.....??"
"How is there hope, or how did the possession occur?" Foxy asked.
"Both."
"Well," Freddy continued. "It shouldn't be impossible if we were invented in the 80's."
"....true."
"Afton was convinced he could bring his son back if he had access to something he called remnant. Just think of it as ghost energy; it can be harvested from someone's, or something's, death. He knew he couldn't kill all on his own without getting caught, but he knew that an animatronic could be perfectly capable. So he designed--"
"It was me." Circus Baby interrupted. "He originally only designed me to kidnap and kill children. But I worked too well, and I took his only daughter. And so close to his son's previous death."
"And then Afton went even more mad." Foxy chimed in.
"And he added the features to the rest of us," Ballora added. "And ever since, we've been nothing but killing machines."
"So...you guys are possessed or something?" You squeaked. You had sat in your chair, still and silent, digesting this new and dangerous information. "Please don't tell me I've been in a relationship with a ghost."
"No, no, no!" Freddy swooped in, holding onto your hand. "I'm still me. Just Freddy. Part of the remnant is that we keep a part of what would make you human. Like sentience, e--"
"--emotions.." you cut him off. Freddy smiled.
"I thought I'd went over this with you." He teased knowingly.
"I'm just now remembering. I still need to figure out why I can't remember....I do need to call up a friend tonight. She should have answers."
"That's great. So! Anything you want to touch up on? Any 'I want to dissociate with you all'? Anything?" Foxy asked quickly. Baby smacked him on the back of the head.
"No, you're fine, Foxy. But I feel like I just cut you all off there...?" You turned back over to Freddy.
"Well, we don't directly have the spirits inside us. We aren't directly influenced by them. But as for me, yes. Because I was the only one to directly kill a child." Baby said.
"Baby has Elizabeth inside of her. The two tend to switch in control, since Baby's AI is practically sentient on its own." Foxy clarified. "So if you see Baby switch character to, we'll, a child...that's her." You got chills up your spine. "But we haven't directly killed someone. Yet. Though, we don't want to do that. There's only been one incident, a long time ago, where Afton did the dirty work himself and he put the remnant inside of us himself."
"This doesn't make us mindless killers, Y/N." Baby said solemnly. "I really hope you don't think that. It's just the way we're programmed, we-we don't have control over this part of us. But we are ashamed, and we wish we didn't exist. For the sakes of the people around us. I hope you understand..."

...

"Any questions?" Ballora cleared up the silence.
"Well...." You trailed off. "I think I still need to process all of this. All of it. But this doesn't affect the way I see you guys. I think." You added quietly. "I mean, it is terrible. You gotta say it. But you guys can't help it. And you regret it. But is there some way to get this out of your programming?"
"We've been working on that for years, Y/N." Freddy said. He took his hand off of yours to fold his arms in front of him. He laid his head down onto his forearms to rest.
"Well, now you've got someone working on the inside for ya." You rested your head on top of Freddy's. "I don't think I can do much, but I'll try doing at least something." Freddy leaned into you a bit. You couldn't imagine there being blood on this bear's hands. "I'm gonna head out now. I'll see you guys tomorrow night and we can talk then about the specifics. I wanna know all about how you guys work."
You noted the guilty looks on Ballora and Baby's faces.
"To help," you added again. "I'm not gonna judge. You guys didn't choose this. But I do want to know how I forgot a big dork like you." You gave Freddy a big bear hug and he nearly fell back as you snuggled your head up beneath his. Bon Bon and Foxy snorted. You put your head up to Freddy's ear. "I'll find that out tonight," you whispered, then gave a small kiss on the head. "Bye, guys!" You snatched up your satchel and left the room with a steaming Freddy, fangirling Bon Bon, and a silent Baby, Foxy and Ballora.

I tell myself I won't upload once a month and WHAT DO I DO-
