┏°⌜ 070: Escape

You all sat together at the dining table.
With "all" you meant Sasha's parents Artur and Lisa, as well as 4 other children, Falco and Gabi.
Artur and his wife decide to open their home up to orphaned children going so far as to refer to them as his "family".
Artur himself is a hunter and owns this farm in the middle of the forest.

Falco and Gabi, hiding here as Ben and Mia, are the newest children who they 'adopted'.

Everyone was quiet eating potato soup that Lisa had made. It was truly delicious.

As you took a spoonful of the potato soup, you couldn't help but feel grateful once again for the strangers who had taken you in. The warmth of the soup radiated throughout your body, providing you with much-needed comfort.

You looked around the room and saw that everyone was enjoying their meal in silence. It was a peaceful moment, and you felt a sense of belonging in this unfamiliar place.

"I'm glad you like it," Lisa said, breaking the silence and noticing that you seem to like her soup "It's a family recipe that's been passed down for generations."

"It's amazing!" you replied, a small smile forming on your face.

The others at the table nodded in agreement, each person lost in their own thoughts.

"So uhm... miss Y/n..."
Artur spoke hesitantly
"Mia and Ben already told me what happened. I want you to know that you can stay here as long as you want."

You shook your head sadly, putting the spoon aside "I appreciate your kindness, but I have to go. I have to take care of some things and need to go back home as soon as possible."

Artur looked at you with concern
"Are you sure? You can take all the time you need to heal and rest properly. And also- the kidnappers are still outside, it's probably dangerous for you out there... where are you even from?"

"Uhhh..."
You thought for a second what you should answer him
"Shiganshina."

"Sh...Shiganshina?"
Lisa and Artur looked at you surprised

"Yes."

"But this Place is ...
Does that means you are a Jaegerist?"
The old man asked curiously

"Yes."
That wasn't even a lie

Gabi and Falco looked at you with big eyes and also put their spoons aside after hearing that.

"Hm alright... but Shiganshina is far away... with a horse it takes about 6-7 hours to get there."
Lisa sounded worried.

"I know, but I have no other choice."
You looked at your empty Bowl, thinking about how you will get back to Shiganshina safely

Everyone at the table could sense the sadness and determination in your voice. They knew that there was no changing your mind or persuading you to stay longer.

"If so then we will give you a horse and you can leave tomorrow when you feel better again."
Artur suggested but sounded generally unsatisfied and worried

Understandable. If you rode with the horse back tomorrow, they would probably never know if you actually made it back safely. In your world you could text an SMS 'I've returned home safely' but there's no such thing here.

They're just worried about you-
knowing that the people who tried to kidnap you are still out there.

"I really don't like that..."
Lisa added quietly, putting her hands on the table

Artur let out a loud sigh
"You know what... I will accompany you."

"Huh?"
You looked at him surprised
"N-no! You have children here and a wife you have to take care of. Just that you all helped me and offered a horse to return is enough. I am really very grateful for that."
