Philps pov part 9

Philp kneels down to the king with Adam and raven at the throne room his throat felt dry he hated being in this room every time he has to come her makes his stomach turn he starts counting in his head
King: everyone at ease
Everyone stood up
King: you summon us Adam please state your case
Adam: I am here on the behalf of philps  debt
King: yes I heard but what about it
Adam: well yes he had been working off this debt for 12 years when the legal limit is 4 plus the matter of him being sent into the war at age 6 that is no place for a child and the law has stated he must be at least 18 to be drafted in and must at least serve 2 years in battle witch 12 is way more then 2 he has to take care of 9 people in his house without a dollar to his name and has gained more mental stress and ptsd then anyone in this room
King: not everyone but he dose make a fair point he was put into a position he was not meant to be in and he is still paying for it this punishment may be a little too harsh for a mistake he made at age 6
A man chimed in on the side
Man: that "mistake" had costed a innocent person's life
A lady on the other side huffed
Lady: I would hardly call that man innocent who attacks there own child
Man: he did not attack the kid he was being disciplined and the boy overreacted
Lady: he had a gun pointed at one of the kids faces
Man: I bet he wasn't going to pull the trigger probably just trying to scare the child
Philp thinks "wasn't going to pull the trigger" and thinks back to that moment he heard a bullet shot as he was pulling jack outside of the front door he try to shoot them aging and again and again there home was in the middle of the forest so barely anyone could hear the bullets but he will never forget the sounds the screams his brother made in panic
Lady: that man was crazy and should have never had kids in the first place
Man: you woman overreact and are too emotional where talking about a murder here not a sob story
The conical argues back and forth multiple people speaking at the same time half talking about how philps a killer and the other on how it was self defense then they brought up the people he killed recently and that he was a crazy mad man that should never be given a second chance then the other half talking about how he was doing what he could to survive this talk made philps heart sink to the floor he could not handle another word come out of anyone's mouth on how his father was a good person or that he was a monster the king knocked his cane on the floor twice making a ring noise bounce off the walls and silence everyone at the same time
King: is this a trial or a mad house keep yourself together
The king stood up from his seat
King: let's take a vote
3 voted him to stay in debt and 2 voted him to leave the debt the king added his vote making both sides even with a 3/3 on ether side leaving only one person left to decide a young boy who seem to just join the conical recently
Boy: well I suppose I can't say both now can I well let's figure this out......I think my choice will be....yes you can leave the debt...mainly because legally you should have already left it
King: that it brings it to a 4/3 and so you can officially be rid of your debt once you finish this last mission you will be free
Philps face lit up he has never felt so much joy in his life ever
Philp: h-how I have been bringing this issue up for years and it gets fixed just like that?
Adam: well sometimes one small change can make a big difference now let's go get your kids
Philp: right alright let's go
He could not stop smiling he was so happy this could be the beginning of a brand new start
