Currently at the Cerise laboratory James is making his way up the stairway up toward the said facility since he's gotten a letter from Ash himself that he wanted to meet up and have a battle with him. Possibly try if to get revenge from the last time they battled as he lost pretty badly.
When he arrived he seen both Ash and Goh who were talking to each other and also waiting for his arrival, when they spotted him they both stopped and walked over toward the ex Team Rocket member.
James:I gotten your letter Ash so is there a reason why you wanted to seem.as he held up the letter
Ash:well..the reason why I contacted you was for I could have a rematch, the last battle we had I lost pretty badly and I want to see how I'll fair up against you now.he replied to him
James:*raises an eyebrow*so you want to test yourself again? I guess I can comply to that and also it'll be a good warm up for me before the Kalos league which is very soon.he agreed
Goh:soo do you guys need a ref.he asked
Ash:no I don't we'll need one, the rules will be simple. Each trainer will use 3 Pokémon each and the winner will be decided once either sides Pokémon are unable to continue.he told him
James:hmm so the typical thing I suppose we could do something like that.he replied
The battle format has already been chosen and James was goin to ask if they could have a double battle instead since in the qualifying rounds there will be Tag Team battles, and the pair who's victorious will move onto the actual tournament.
Small Timeskip
Both of them had made it to the area where Keenan's old dome was located which was a much bigger area then where they usually train and battle with each other as it has so much more room. Goh is seen on the side watching the battle as he's curious how this battle will go since Ash has been training ever since.
James:how about I go first? I'll be sure to let this first Pokémon worth your while.he said as he threw a ball up
As the ultra ball had opened up revealing a familiar Pokémon that Ash knows since he's encountered it a few times back in Unova as his eyes had widened and so did Goh's. Right off the bat James is using a Legendary.
