"Spence, don't freak out," JJ warned.
"What?" he said, catching the look on her face. "JJ, what's wrong?"
"Come see," she said, and he followed her immediately into the conference room where the latest e-mail from their unsub was displayed on the screen. Spencer's blood ran cold at the sight.
Pictures, of the one woman that meant the most to him. (Y/N). Getting coffee, going to the library, out with her friends, riding the metro on her way to work.
"Oh, god," he breathed, already pulling out his phone, frantically dialing her number. It rang, and rang, and rang.
"Hey, it's (Y/N). You know what to do. Later."
He groaned in frustration at the cheery greeting.
"(Y/N), it's Spencer. Call me back, please? It's an emergency." He paused.
"I love you," he added, and then hung up, waiting no time at all before he called again. He tried multiple times, but never got an answer. He turned to the others, focusing on Garcia.
"Can you track the GPS if you know the SIM number?" he asked.
"Yes."
Spencer rattled it off to her, and she typed it in just as quickly. Spencer leaned over her shoulder as she worked. It didn't take long, and as soon as he saw the address, Spencer was gone.
A club. That's where her phone had pinged to. Spencer wasted no time in going inside. He worked his way through the crowds, intending to talk to someone of authority. He was paying no attention to the people around him.
Until he felt someone grab onto his arm. He whirled around, ready to lash out, but then he saw the face of the person who'd grabbed him.
"(Y/N)," he said. "I've been calling you!"
"Who keeps their phone on them when they're out dancing?" she asked with a flirty smile.
"Who are you here with?" Spencer asked.
"Ivy and Alaina," she answered. "But I have no idea where they are." She laughed and kissed his cheek.
"Come on, Spence, dance with me," she implored. He shook his head.
"No, come on, not tonight, (Y/N)," he said, gently taking her hand.
"Aw, Spence, why?" she whined. "You're such a Debbie Downer."
"Love, please," he begged. "I don't want to get into it right now, but I really need to get you home."
(Y/N) sighed dramatically.
"Fine, but you owe me a dance, Pretty Boy," she said, aiming to poke his nose and missing, her finger landing on his cheek, dangerously close to his eye. He laughed lightly.
"Alright, alright, I owe you a dance," he agreed. "Later, though. Come on, let's go home."
He led her outside.
She fell asleep in the car on the short ride to his apartment, and he called Hotch.
"Hey, Reid," Hotch said.
"Hey, Hotch, I've got (Y/N)," he said.
"Is she okay?"
"Yeah, she's fine," Spencer replied. "Her phone was off. But I'm taking her home, okay?"
"Absolutely," Hotch said. "We'll keep working on this, and send a detail to your place."
"Okay, thanks."
"Of course. Keep me updated."
"Same to you."
"Goodnight, Reid," Hotch said.
"Night."
When they arrived at his apartment, Spencer shook (Y/N) awake.
"Hey," he said. "Wake up for a minute."
"What?" she mumbled. "Where are we?"
"At my place. Come on, let's get you changed and into bed." She smiled, attempting to be flirty.
"You can take me to bed anytime, Doctor Reid," she slurred. He huffed out a laugh and shook his head as they headed upstairs.
A few minutes later, (Y/N) was curled up under the covers in a pair of his sweatpants and one of his shirts, fast asleep, her hair spread out over the pillow. Spencer joined her, but didn't allow himself to sleep. Instead, he watched her, just grateful to have her home safe and sound. He knew he'd have to tell her about the unsub, but that could wait until morning. For now, he'd just let her sleep.
