Honeymoon Romance

For our honeymoon, me and Nathan decided to go to California. We are about an hour from landing and I'm starting to get a bit restless.

"Harper. Calm down. We are going to be there soon." Says Nathan and he put his hand on my shoulder.

"Ladies and gentleman, as you can see the seatbelt sign has been signalled. The reason being is that we are landing a little earlier than expected. Don't worry, we are landing at LAX, but we flew faster than expected. Please fasten you seatbelts and flight attendants, please prepared for landing. Thank you." Says the captain through the speaker.

I fasten my seatbelt and then about 20 minutes later, the plane starts to descend. We land and when we collect our luggage, we hail a cab.

"Harper. Are you ok?" Asks Nathan.

"Nathan. I'm two months pregnant, it's like 40 degrees and I'm tired after around a 13 hour flight. Would you be alright?" I say.

"Alright, no need to snap." Says Nathan.

We get to our hotel and as soon as we are in our room, I collapse onto the bed and fall asleep. I wake up from the sound of water running in the bathroom. I get up and when I go inside, Nathan is preparing for a shower.

"I was wondering when you were going to wake up." Says Nathan.

"Nathan. I'm sorry for the way I spoke to you." I say.

"Look, I get that you are frustrated and all, and its ok." Says Nathan.

We end up showering together and then get into bed.

"What are we going to do tomorrow?" I ask.

"Well, we could go to the beach. Then that gives me a chance to show of my sexy best friend, my sexy wife and the sexy mother of my child." Says Nathan.

I chuckle at Nathan's remarks. My smile soon fades and I begin to sob into my pillow.

"I'm not sexy though. In going to be a fat whale and you will think I'm disgusting." I say through tears.

"Harper, both of a know that is by true. Now go to sleep." Says Nathan. His plants a soft kiss on my head before turning on his side and falling asleep.

"Harper. Harper, wake up." Says Nathan.

My eyes flutter ops and when I see Nathan hovering above me, I instantly begin to smile. I bring his head towards mine and begin to kiss him. We break apart and then get ready.

"Nathan." I say as we walk through the lobby and out of the front doors of the hotel.

"Harper. What's wrong?" Says Nathan who is starting to become panicked.

"Nothing. The baby just kicked." I say.

I grab Nathan's arm and then we walk to the beach which is about a 10 minute walk from the hotel.

"I'll a get the sumbeds, if you get the drinks." Says Nathan.

"Ok." I say.

I give Nathan a kiss before waddling like a penguin off to the beach bar.

"Can I have a diet coke please and a beer." I say as I look up at the bar tender.

"Coming right up." Says the bartender.

He disappears round the corner and then comes back with a coke in one hand and a beer in the other.

"You are looking fine." Says the bartender.

"Sorry. What did you say your name was?" I ask in disgust.

"I didn't. He name is Jaylen." Says the bartender.

"Jaylen. My husband is sitting right over there and I don't think he'd be too impressed of he found out that ou wet flirting with a pregnant woman." I say.

I roll my eyes, take the drinks and walk back to Nathan. Whilst attempting to lay back on my Sun bed, I trip over, but Nathan catches me.

"You alright?" Asks Nathan.

"Yeah." I say.

We stay on our subnets for a further half an hour, before deciding to go in the sea.

"Nathan, last time I went in a pool if water as big as this, I drowned and practically died." I say as I stand barely ankle deep.

"Harper, I promised on our wedding day that I would never let go if you in any situation, and I'm not prepared to do that now." Says Nathan as he holds his hand out for me.

I slowly go further into the freezing water. Soon enough, my baby bump has dissapered under to water. I'm clinging to Nathan for dear life, but he keeps assuring me that I'm going to be fine.

"See, it's not so bad." Says Nathan.

"I guess. I still don't know how to swim properly though." I say as I go shy and look away.

"Hey. Look at me." Says Nathan.

I look into his eyes and can feel tears falling out of mine.

"So what? Who cares. You're with me, I'll keep you safe." Says Nathan.

We start to kiss and then I climb on his back. We spend around 15 minutes in the water, then get out. I have to say, I did enjoy myself, but was scared to death that I was going to drown and stop breathing.

"Shall I get some more drinks?" I ask.

"Please." Says Nathan.

I get you and walk to the beach bar again. Surprise, surprise, Jaylen hasn't finished his shift, or maybe he was waiting for me.

"Can I have a lemonade with a slice of lemon and a vodka coke." I ask.

"See. You couldn't resist me. So, you can back for some fun?" Asks Jaylen.

"Nathan!" I shout.

People start staring, but my protective his band comes running over. He looks angry.

"Whats wrong, is it the baby?" Says Nathan as he puts his hands on my arms.

"No, this guy here, Jaylen, keeps flirting with me." I say.

Nathan's eyes dart to Jaylen. Jaylen doesn't look a tad scared, but he will be when Nathan is finished with him.

"You listen here. That women is my life long best friend. She is my wife and the mother of my child and if you make one more pass at her, I swear to God, I will have you done for sexual harassment. Do you understand?" Says Nathan.

Most of the beach has gone quiet and is now staring at the little scene we have created.

"Come on Harper. We're leaving." Says Nathan.

We go back to our stuff and pack up. Then we go back to the hotel and I lay on the bed.

"Harper. You ok?" Asks Nathan as he crawls up to me from the bottom I'm the bed.

"Yes." I say without making eye contact.

I fall asleep, feeling terrified of what Nathan or other people think of me.
