I arrived at 're hospital around 5 minutes after I was picked up. The doctor did a scan of the baby and there is no damage. I however, have 3 caracked ribs, a fractured wrist and a dislocated shoulder. I'm now awaiting the doctors news to see when I can go home.
"Have I told you how sorry I am?" Says Nathan.
"Have I told you that it was not tour fault. The car came out of no where." I say.
There's a knock at the door and I sit up ready to talk to the doctor, but no, it's the police. What are the police doing here? Oh yeah, may be because I was involved in a hit and run!
"Hi. You must be Harper Montgomery. Would it be ok of we ask you some questions regarding the accident?" Asks the female officer.
"Yes, of course." I say.
"Just for police confidentiality, we need to ask you to leave the room, Mr Montgomery." Says the second officer who is male.
"I'll be just outside the door." Says Nathan.
He gives me a kiss and then leaves. He closes the door and then the officers sit on the two empty chairs.
"So, my name is Officer Mandy Spencer and this is." Says the female officer.
"Officer Ethan Dash." Says the male officer.
"So, Harper, can you tell us anything you remember about the accident?" Says Officer Spencer.
"Um, I remember I was walking across the street from my neighbours house back to mine. I looked left and right and there were no cars to be seen. So, as any normal person would, I crossed the road. But when I got halfway, the car hot me. I think or was a dark green Ford Fiesta." I say.
"Did you see the faces of the driver or anyone else in the car?" Says Mandy.
"Um, yeah. After I was on the floor from being hit, the car stopped. The Windows were down so I could hear what they were saying." I say.
"Ok. What did they say?" Asks Ethan.
"The driver wanted to stop and see if I was ok. The passenger said something along the lines of, 'Do you want to get arrested?' And that's when they drove away." I say.
"Can you remember anything else?" Asks Mandy.
"No. After they drove away, my husband came back from the shop and found me. Then the neighbour came out and called the ambulance." I say.
"Ok. Well, if you can remember anything else, here's my card." Says Mandy.
"Thank you." I say.
The officers leave and then Nathan comes back in. He sits by my bed and takes my hand.
"What did they say?" Asks Nathan.
"They asked me what I remembered about the accident and I told them all I could." I say.
"Ok." Says Nathan.
We sit in silence for a few minutes, neither of us not knowing what to say.
"Do you need anything? Drink, food, magazine?" Asks Nathan.
"I'm fine. Thank you" I say.
The doctor comes in.
"So, we have spoke together, the other doctors and I, and we have agreed that we want to keep you on for observation since you are so far along in your pregnancy." Says the doctor.
"For how long?" I ask.
"At the moment, it is unclear. Although your injuries are not too serious, we still need to keep you in." Says he doctor.
I start crying. I turn to Nathan who is looking at me.
"Nathan. Don't let them keep me in here. Dont leave me alone." I say.
"Harper, it's what is best for you and the baby." Says Nathan.
"If you go home, then I'm coming home with you." I say.
I get off the bed, but the doctor tries to put me back on. I push her away and then head for the door. Nathan tries to pull me back, but I shake him off.
"Get off of me!" I scream.
"MRS Montgomery, you need to get back into bed!" Says the doctor.
"I want to be at home with my husband! Not in here without him!" I say.
A few more doctors come in and forcw me back into bed. Nathan is told to leave the room. No. I'm not having that!
"NATHAN! I NEED NATHAN!" I scream.
No matter what the doctors do or try, theg won't stop me. That is u til I feel a prick in my thigh. I soon stop moving and close my eyes.
When I wake up, I'm alone in the same room. The blinds are closed and the one on the door is too. It's dark, but their is a bit of light. I panic.
"NATHAN!" I shout.
The door bursts open and I see Nathan. He must have been sitting outside.
"Harper." Says Nathan.
He comes over to me and hugs me. I hug him back.
"I'm sorry about earlier. I know that staying in here is what is best for baby and me." I say.
"Good. Now. I spoke to the doctor to try and get an exact date of when you can go home. They are still unsure, but will probably be able to tell you, I mean us, tomorrow." Says Nathan.
"Ok." I say.
Me and Nathan share a few kisses and then I run on my side to face him. It hurts a little as the side I'm on is my bad ribs side, but it's the side I always sleep on.
"You look really tired. That shot they gave you wasn't sending you naturally to sleep." Says Nathan.
"I am tired. I was also having an amazing dream about you, so I'm going to go back to sleep and try to finish it." I say.
"What was this dream about?" Asks Nathan.
"That's for me to know and you to find out." I say.
"Sleep tight princess. Sleep tight my little prince." Says Nathan.
He kisses me, then my swollen stomach. He then leaves the room. My ribs are causing a little too much pain, so I turn on my other side (left) and fall asleep.
