Christmas As A Complete Family

It's Christmas day and I couldn't be happier. I'm laying in bed with Nathan and Lily bursts in.

"Mummy! Daddy! It's Christmas!" Lily shouts.

"I know it is baby. You still need to be quiet because of  Sophie and Charlie." I say.

"They woke up ages ago." Lily says.

I get up and out my dressing gown on. I walk into then twins' room and they are lying awake in their cots. I get Charlie and Nathan gets Sophie. Lily walks down the stairs and we follow behind her.

"Can we open presents?" Asks Lily.

"Let's have breakfast first, then we will open presents. Late on we are going to go to auntie Hanna's house for Christmas dinner." I say.

We sit at the island and begin to eat. Me and Nathan are eating some toast and Lily is eating cereal.

"Can we open presents? Please!" Says Lily.

"Ok. Wait though, I just wanna get my phone." I say.

Nathan takes the kids to the tree and I run upstairs to grab my phone. I go back downstairs and get my camera up.

"Which one do you want to open first?" Asks Nathan.

"The big one!" Says Lily.

Nathan moves the smaller gifts out the way. He pulls out the big present, careful not ripping the paper.

"Do you want help opening it?" I ask.

"No. I can do it." Says Lily.

She begins to rop the paoer off and then she soon realises what we got her.

"A dolls house!" Lily screams.

She opena it and sees all the bits and people already inside.

"Thank you mummy and daddy!" Says Lily.

She gives us a hug each. We get through the kids presents and then it's mine and Nathan's turn.

"Me and mummy got this for you daddy!" Says Lily.

She hands Nathan a small box. Nathan unwraps it and then opens the box.

"It's a watch." Says Nathan

"I know." I say.

"It's the one I saw and said i wanted." Says Nathan.

"I know. Look on the back of it." I say.

He take a the watch out the box and turn it over. He reads aloud.

"You are my forever. I love you so much. Xxx" says Nathan.

"Do you lile it?" I ask.

"I love it. Thank you." Says Nathan.

He gives me a hug and a kiss. Then he and Lily hand me a gift. Its a shoe box size. I rip the paper off. I've seen this box before. Take the lid off and start crying.

"Nathan." I say.

"It's pictures from when we were kids to when we were twenty. Then, when we reconnected. I've shown you this before, when were were about 16. It was our memory box and I've been adding to it." Says Nathan.

I pick up three photos. Its baby scans. I look on the back. One says Lily. One says Sophie. One says Charlie.

"Thank you. Its the best present ever." I say.

I out the box aside and then give Nathan a hug and kiss. We open the last few little bits and then Nathan goes up for a shower. I take Lily and the twins upstairs to get their clothes ready.

"What do you want to wear?" I ask as I put the twins on Lily's bed.

"My black dress with the gold belt." Says Lily.

"And your black pumps?" I ask.

"Yeah." Says Lily.

I get the items from her wardrobe and then lay them on her bed. I pick the twins up and then take them to their rooms. Lily follows me.

"What shall Charlie wear?" I ask.

"I don't know." Says Lily.

I look through the clothes after putting the babies down. For Charlie, I pick a white t-shirt with a little snowman and some trousers. I put some socks on him and then get clothes out for Sophie. I dress he in a simple red dress that has a snow man on it aswell. I out some white tights on her and then I hear Nathan get out the shower.

"Nathan. The twins are dressed. Once you're dressed, can you watch them so I can bath Lily?" I ask.

"Bring them in our room." Says Nathan.

I take the twins to my room and set the on the bed. I put pillows around them in case they roll and fall. I then take Lily into the bathroom ad give her a bath. I wash her hair then her body. I take her out of the bath and wrap her towel around her.

"Nathan. Lily needs to get dressed. Can you watch her and the twins whilst I have a shower?" I shout.

"Yeah." Nathan shouts back.

Lily goes to Nathan and I shower as fast as I can. Once I get out, I get out y navy blue dress and my black heels. I dry my hair and curl it. Lily insists that I curl hers so I do. After rushing around for what seemed like days, we are finally in the car and on the way to Hanna and Rykard's.

"Why are we going to auntie Hanna's?" Asks Lily.

"Because we are having Christmas dinner there. And if you are a good girl, you might get a present from her." I say.

"Did we get auntie Hanna a present?" Asks Lily.

"Yes." I say.

"What did we get her?" Asks Lily.

"It's a surprise." I say.

We get to the house and then are invited inside. Nathan put's our gifts for them down by the tree and then I go into the kitchen with Hanna.

"Do you want help with anything?" I ask.

"No, all good in here." Hanna says.

"So, is everything okay between you and Rykard?" I ask.

"Why wouldn't it be?" says Hanna.

"As a good friend, I'm just asking." I say.

"Have you heard from Hailey?" Hanna asks.

"Yeah, she is going to visit her dad for Christmas in America. She is taking Harry with her. I think they are really going somewhere." I say.

"I know. How long have they been together?" Asks Hanna.

"About 9 months. They got together when I was a month pregnant with the twins." I say.

"Is Nathan enjoying his job as a police officer?" Hanna asks.

"Yep. Has Rykard found a new job or is he still working in the pub?" I ask.

"He's going to be working there for 8 more weeks and then he is going on to a scaffolding job." Hanna Says.

"Oh okay. Where is Rykard anyway?" I ask.

"He just went to the shop to get some more beers." Hanna says.

"Sounds like he's back." I say as me and Hanna hear Nathan talking to Rykard.

"Can I see my little lily bug and Sophie and Charlie, please?" Hanna pleads.

"Fine." I say.

Me and Hanna go into the living room and she sits with Lily. I pick Sophie up and Charlie starts to cry.

"Nathan, take Sophie please." I say.

I pass Sophie to Nathan and then pick Charlie up. I give him a bottle and then he goes to sleep. I do the same with Sophie and then Hanna let's me put them upstairs in their spare room so they can sleep peacefully.

This is the perfect Christmas as a complete family.
