Today is my due date. The babies finally turned! I'm sitting in the kitchen. Lily is at nursery. I'm glad she is. If I do go into labour today, I can get Dion to pick her up.

"Harper. I need to tell you something." Says Nathan.

"Yeah?" I say.

"I decided to quit the army. I can't bear the thought of missing out on Charlie and Sophie's first few months. I just can't do it. I'm gonna find a new job." Says Nathan.

"But Nathan, you were getting such a good pay!" I say.

"Not everything's about money. I'm thinking of starting work in the pub with Rykard and then try to go and do the training to become a police officer so I can sort of still be in that fighting for people's safety sort of place slash environment." Says Nathan.

"Only if your sure." I say.

"I'm sure." Says Nathan.

"Nathan. You know how it was our 3 year wedding anniversary last month?" I ask.

"Yeah? We went out to dinner." Says Nathan.

"I want to celebrate properly." I say.

"By doing what?" Asks Nathan.

"Maybe a weekend getaway when the twins are a little bit older. Say 2 months." I say.

"Ok. Who would watch them?" Asks Nathan.

"I can ask Rcahel. Lily can take time off from nursery. It won't matter." I say.

"Ok. Sounds like a plan." Says Nathan.

Nathana gets up for some drinks, where as I go to the toilet. I sit down and then do what I need to do. Something felt a bit funny, but its my due date, so its probably normal. I flush, wash my hands and then go back to the kitchen. Nathan has made a hot chocolate since it's winter. We are putting the Christmas tree up a few days after I come home with the twins.

"You ok?" Asks Nathan.

"Yeah. I'm just gonna go upstairs quick." I say.

I get up and then go upstairs. Something doesn't fee right. I shake it off and go into the bedroom. I go to get my phone charger, but as I bend down, I fall onto my knees.

"Ow." I say as quietly as possible.

I try to stand up, but I fall back on my knees. This time, my reaction is a little louder.

"Harper. Are you ok?" Asks Nathan.

"Nathan. I can't get up." I shout.

I hear Nathan run upstairs. He comes into the bedroom and see's me on the floor.

"Did you fall?" Asks Nathan.

"Sort of. I was bending down to get my charger and I felt a pain. I fell on my knees, tried to get up, but fell again." I say.

"Give me your arm." Says Nathan.

Nathan helps me up into the bed and I bend over again.

"Harper. What's wrong?" Asks Nathan.

"I think, I think I'm going into Labour." I say.

"Well, it a your due date so I wouldn't be surprised." Says Nathan.

"Go get the car ready. I'll get the baby bag!" I say.

"You're going to stay right there. Don't move. I'll get the baby bag." Says Nathan.

"Nathan. Hurry up!" I say.

I calm down and begin to breathe deeply. The pain decreases, but is still there. Oh wait, I knew it was too good to be true.

"NATHAN!" I scream.

Nathan comes back up and picks me up bridal style. I carefully carries me out the house and puts me into the front seat.

"Got my phone?" I ask.

"Yep. Both of ours are in the bag." Says Nathan.

He starts driving and then we hit traffic. Really?

"Nathan. You're either go if to have to find a police car along this road or call them." I say.

"I think someone's coming up now." I say.

A police car is about 2 spaces away from us in the next lane. Nathan gets out the car to speak to them. A few moments later, I hear sirens and then the police car go forward and we follow behind. I start screaming again but within 5 minutes, we are at the hospital. Nathan quickly thanks the officer and then carry's me into the hospital.

"Ok. Put her in the wheelchair and take her to room five." Says a doctor.

Nathan puts me in the wheelchair and before I can hold his hand, I'm whisked away. When I'm in the room, I'm helped onto the bed.

"Have your water's broke yet?" Asks the nurse.

"I don't know. I went to the toilet earlier and as I was having a wee, it felt weird. It might have been my water's." I say.

"Ok. Let's get you changed and well examine you." Says the nurse.

The nurse brings in a gown and once Nathan comes in, he helps me change.

"Is Rachel on her way?" I ask.

"Yeah. She is just parking now." Says Nathan.

"Ok." I say.

I'm given gas and air and then I'm examined.

"Ok. Your water's have definatley broken. Looks like baby number one wants to see you asap. I can already see the head!" Says the midwife.

Rachel bursts in the door just as I begin to push.

"Do you want an epidural?" Asks the midwife.

I shake my head. I keep pushing and after half an hour, baby Charlie James Montgomery is born.

"Can I hold him?" I ask as I cry tears of happiness.

"Let's wait until baby number two is born." Says the midwife.

I nod my head in agreement and begin to push when she tells me to. It takes only a few minutes for Sophie Leigh Montgomery to be born.

"Welcome baby Montgomery one and baby Montgomery 2." Says the midwife as she wraps them up.

"Who do you wanna hold?" Asks Nathan.

"Charlie first." I say.

Nathan hands Charlie to me and he hold Sophie.

"They are so beautiful." I say.

"Yeah. Do you want me to take a photo and send it to nan and grandad?" Asks Rachel.

"Yes please." I reply.

Nathan gets closer to me and Rachel snaps a photo from the end of the bed. She sits down and I pass Charlie to her. I share a Koss with Nathan, and then lay back in bed. I slowly close my eyes, and then my body goes limp.
