1 Month Checkup

Nathan and I are going for our one month scan today. I've noticed that I'm a little bigger than I'd like, but the baby is probably big.

"Nathan! What are you doing?" I shout from downstairs.

"Trying to get Lily's shoes on!" Nathan shouts back.

"We are going to be late!" I say.

"Hold on!" Says Nathan.

Nathan eventually comes downstairs. I sigh and then we get into the car. Nathan is driving. Their journey is silent, so I switch on the radio.

"Turn this carp off." Says Nathan as Justin Bieber comes on.

"Shut up." I say.

15 minutes pass before we arrive at the hospital for the scan. We wait and hen we are called in. I lay on the bed and Nathan sits next to me with Lily on his lap. He holds my hand as we await the picture of our unborn child.

"Your babies look very healthy." Says the female nurse.

"Thats good. Wait, did you say babies?" I ask.

"Yes. You're having twins." Says the woman.

"Twins? Are you sure?" I ask.

"Positive." Says the woman.

She shows us the screen. I start crying. I look at Nathan and he has his eyes glued to the screen.

"Can we know the gender?" Asks Nathan.

"Um, it's too early to tell. Maybe at your next appointment." Says the nurse.

"Ok. Can we have some print outs?" I ask.

"Of course. How many?" Asks he woman.

"4 please." I say.

As the woman is printing the pictures out, I sit up and wipe my belly. I pull down my top and then climb off the bed.

"Thank you. When's my next appointment?" I ask.

"In 3 months." Says the woman.

We leave and then go back to the car. I stare at the photo's and out my hand on my bump. Nathan starts driving. We decide to go to McDonald's since if been cravung it for the last 3 days.

"You get a table. I'll order. What do you want?" Asks Nathan.

"A big Mac. 20 chicken nuggets box. Large fries. Two Apple pies. Large coke, no ice." I say as I sit in a booth.

"Thats a lot. Are you sure you will eat that much?" Asks Nathan.

I give him a death glare.

"Yes. I'm eating for three. I have my stomach to fill. And the twins." I say.

"What do you want Lily?" Asks Nathan.

"Just get her a nugget happy meal with a fruit shoot." I say.

"Ok. Lil, sit with mummy whilst daddy gets the food." Says Nathan.

Lily climbs on the booth and sits next to me. I scroll through my Facebook. Hanna has posted some new pictures of Louie. I like them and then continue to scroll. I then come across some recent key liked pictures of Mr and Nathan on our wedding day. I lock my phone when Nathan comes with the food. I take my stuff. I put my Apple pies in my bag. I open my big Mac and open my nuggets. I start eating. I take a sip of coke every now and then.

"Slow down Harper. No ones going to take it off you." Says Nathan.

I give him another death glare.
