Nathan decided to take Lily to the park for a few hours. Me and Hailey are sitting on the sofa watching movies and eating popcorn.
"I should be getting home." Says Hailey.
"I'll drive you." I say.
"Are you sure. You're hungover, indent think it's safe." Says Hailey.
"I'm fine." I say.
I turn the t.v. off and get my car keys. We get in the car and start driving.
"So, did you talk to any boys last night?" I ask.
"I don't think so, but I remember giving some guy my number so who knows." Says Hailey.
The rest of the car journey is silent. We get to Hailey's place and I say goodbye. When I get back to mine, Nathan is cleaning up all the mess and Lily is on her play mat.
"How was the park?" I ask.
"It was good. Me and Lily fed the ducks and gave monkey nuts to the squirrels." Says Nathan.
I walk over to him and he hugs me.
"She's beaitiful isn't she?" I say.
"Who are you talking about? You or Lily?" I ask.
"Lily obviously. I'm not beautiful. I'm am ugly, sweaty mum." I say.
"You may be sweaty and your make-up may be smeared, but you are one of the most beautiful people I have ever seen." Says Nathan.
I roll my eyes.
"No, I really mean it." Says Nathan.
"How could someone like you, live someone lile me when they look like I tramp?" I ask.
"I don't care what you are wearing. I do t care if you haven't washed your hair in God knows how many days. I don't care if you haven't brushed your teeth. I don't care if you haven't put on deodorant. I don't car if you are not wearing a bra. All I care about is loving you." Says Nathan.
I find myself crying after Nathan's mini speech. I move forward and kiss him. He really has made it up to me. I love him so much and a life without him is a life not worth living. We bream apart.
"Sing for me." Says Nathan.
"What?" I say.
"I want to hear you sing." Says Nathan.
"Ok." I say.
Nathan sits on the sofa and I stand on the other side of the coffee table.
"When I look into your eye's. It's like watching the night sky. Or a beautiful Sun rise. There's so much they hold. Or just like them old stars. I see that you've come so far. To be right where you are. How old is your soul? I won't give up on us. Even if the skies get rough. I'm giving you all my love. Still looking up. I won't give up on us. God knows I'm tough enough. We've got a lot to learn. Still looking up."
"Rachel was right to sign you up." Says Nathan.
"Hmm." I say.
I sit on the couch with Nathan. I wipe my tears away and snuggle into Nathan's side. I almost fall asleep, but I'm woken up by Lily's cries. I get off the sofa and pick Lily up.
"I'm just going upstairs to change her." I say.
I carry Lily upstairs and once she has a clean nappy, she goes to sleep. I put he in her cot and set the baby moniter. I'm looking down at her and I feel warm arms wrap around my waist from behind. Nathan rests his chin in my shoulder.
"How many more kids do you want in the future?" I ask.
"Dont know. But when we have another one, I'd prefer a boy, but if it were a girl I wouldn't be disappointed." Says Nathan.
"Yeah. I was thinking maximum 4 kids. It has to be an even number. I don't like middle children." I say.
"Well, I want more than two." Says Nathan.
"Me too." I say.
Me and Nathan leave the room and I have a shower. Once I get out, Nathan is lying on the bed on the phone.
"Yes. That's table for two at 7:30. Yep. Under the name of Montgomery." Says Nathan.
I sit on the bed with him.
"Yep. Thank you very much. Bye." Says Nathan.
"Who was that?" I ask.
"We. Are going out for dinner tonight. Just the two of us." Says Nathan.
"What about Lily?" I ask.
"I planned this all earlier and Dion is available to baby sit." Says Nathan.
"I don't know. I mean, Andy." I say.
"Harper. It was just a dream. Andy is a good man. He wouldn't hurt a fly." Says Nathan.
"I'm not so sure about this Nathan." I say.
"Harper. Trust me on this one. Dion and Andy are good people and they have their own children. It can't be hard for them to look after a baby." Says Nathan.
I look into Nathan's eyes.
"Plus, I booked with a restaurant that has a no refund policy." Says Nathan.
"Fine. But the minute I feel something's wrong, I'm coming home." I say.
"Deal." Says Nathan.
"Wait. How fancy is this restaurant? I don't want to come over dressed." I say.
"Hold on." Says Nathan.
Nathan gets up and goes to my part of the wardrobe. Her moves a few hangers and eventually pulls out this deep jungle red dress. It has shoulder sleeves and ends just above the knee. It flows a bit. He then grabs my non shiny black heels.
"Wear this, and you will blow my mind." Says Nathan.
"Really?" I say sarcastically.
"Really." Says Nathan.
"Fine." I say.
"I love you." Says Nathan.
"I love you to." I say.
We begin to kiss passionately before I realize I still need to dry my hair.
"What's the time?" I ask.
"4, why?" Says Nathan.
"Just wondering." I say.
I put on some leggings and a baggy t-shirt. I then lay on the bed and slowly start to dose off. I feel Nathan lay beside me and his arm snakes around my waist and stomach.
"What you thinking about?" I ask.
"Don't know. Me, you, Lily. Our own little family." Says Nathan.
"Can I ask you a question?" I say.
"Sure." Says Nathan.
"Why did you choose to go to the army?" I ask.
