Nicki POV

I woke up the next morning with Liyah's head on my chest. She stirred awake as I sat up.

"Why don't I remember last night at all?" I rubbed my head.

"You didn't miss much, just the usual." Liyah shrugged.

I cocked an eyebrow at her.

"Lydia and my dad were fighting like a divorced couple, as always." She playfully rolled her eyes.

"What are we gonna do about them?" I shook my head.

"Don't forget about your other guest as well." She stated.

"Your mother?" I asked.

"Oh so you do remember."

"What time is it?" I changed the subject.

"7:36" she checked her phone.

We walked downstairs but Alex stopped me before I got to the kitchen.

"Can I talk to you for a minute?" She asked.

"I have to go to work." I denied.

"Fine, I'll see you there." She shrugged.

"K."

"One quick thing."

"Yeah?" I asked.

"When do I get my family back?"

"What?" I turned to her.

"You reunited us, now you're no longer needed." She smirked.

"Yet her house and her business seem to run your little family huh." I heard Lydia appear behind me.

"This doesn't concern you." Alex glared. "Either of you."

"News flash, try talking to your 'family' before assuming your place." Lydia shot back.

"Liyah is my daughter and his. We share a child together, you can't compare." Alex flipped her hair.

"Until I tell him I'm pregnant." I stated, causing Alex to freeze. "Dont make me have to be a bitch to you."

"You're pregnant?" She shuddered.

I rubbed my stomach in a circular motion to taunt her.

She walked away, and Lydia approached me.

"Aubrey and Aaliyah described her as being so nice and outgoing.." I reflected.

"Its funny, I could say the same thing about you." She traced my cheek bone with her finger.

"Thanks for backing me up."

She cupped my face in her hands and spoke softly and sincerely, "if the whole world was against you, Nic.. I'd still back you up."

I wanted to kiss her, badly. She knew it too.

She tapped my belly, "so.."

"There's nothing in there."

"Just making sure." She cocked an eyebrow at me.

"Its way too soon for he and I to even remotely begin a family. I just couldn't give her the satisfaction of having something over me." I admitted.

"Were you this feisty to other women when we were together?" she asked.

I shrugged, "only when needed."

"Hm." she put her finger on my chin.

"Why?"

"Nothing.. Its just, sexy on you." she bit her lip and took a step back. "If I would've known then."
