"Be careful Watson. The little devil might still be awake."

"Oh, don't worry Holmes. I know that little devil better than you."

Grinning a little, Watson pushed the door open ever so quietly. Confirmed that the little devil was peacefully in his dreams, they both sneaked in.

Tiptoeing through the barrage of scattered obstacles, they finally reached his bed. Without making a noise, Holmes placed the tricycle they had bought by the foot of his bed.

"Happy birthday little devil. Your present is waiting for you when you wake up," Watson whispered giving a light kiss on the devil's cheek.

He might run a havoc throughout the day, keep them running after him the whole year round; But he'd always remain the best case they've solved together.

Just like kids, parents are a peculiar brand too.
