Tessa's P.O.V:
"I'm going home." I repeat for tenth time and hear Leroy mumble something under his breath. "My house is only half an hour away. I'll make it to the meeting." I mumble as I roll my eyes.

"It's almost four in the morning Tessa." Leroy states.

"Well I'll be safe then since you always have them watching over me." I say and hear him sigh heavily through the phone. Alexander glances at me before he looks back at the road. I clear my throat as I cross my legs and look away from him and out the window.

"Tessa-" Leroy starts but I cut him off.

"Goodbye asshole." I say before I hang up the call. I throw my phone into the cup holder and fold my arms across my chest. Alexander clears his throat before he speaks.

"What did you mean when you said Leroy had people watching over you?" Alexander asks.

"Nothing." I mumble.

"Nothing?" He repeats. "What did you mean, Tessa?" He asks, making me sigh.

"I meant the papparazi." I lie. "It was a joke, Alex. Relax." I add.

"You're always hiding shit now from us. Alway so secretive ever since you moved to Detroit." He mutters under his breath as he shakes his head and looks away from me. I simply ignore his comment and keep my eyes on the empty road. "Left or right?" He asks when he comes near to the end of the road.

"Left." I lean back into my seat. Alexander hums lightly in response before he turns left.

"When are you going back to California?" I say and watch him shrug. "Well....When does your work trip end?" I ask.

"I'm not here on a work trip, Tess." He says.

"Then why are you here, Alexander?" I ask.

"Well....I saw you break down on stage." He sighs. "We're both divorced so in a way....I know what you're going through." He says.

"You came all the way to Detroit for...Me?" I say slowly.

"Is that so hard to believe?" He looks at me.

Yes. Yes it is.

Alexander was always the cold and heartless sibling out of the seven of us. He never cared if we were hurt. He never really cared if we were upset or crying. As kids when he saw us cry, he would simply walk away. Even through his adult years, he stayed emotionless.

"No...I...I appreciate you coming." I force a smile on my lips. Alex nods in response as he looks out the window awkwardly and clears his throat.

"Now where?" He asks.

"Right." I say. We both look into the review mirror when we hear sirens. Alexander drives to the side of the road to let the ambulance through and the three police cars before he drives back onto the road.

"You should really think about moving back to California. Detroit is a dangerous place." He says.

"Not where I live." I shrug. "Besides, the twins were born and raised here. Detroit's their home." I say. We watch the the police cars drive infront of us.

"Wonder what happened now." I hear him mumble.

"Turn left here." I say as the police cars turn left. Alexander nods as he turns left. He slows down when the police cars stop.

"Roads blocked off." He says as he sits up slightly. I look at the people waiting around their cars. There's yellow tape blocking off the middle of the road. "You know another way?" He asks.
