Katies POV:
"So Travis. What makes you want to accompany me on this walk?" I asked in a mad voice as we walked around camp. "I wanted to apologize for my prank this morning." He said as he stared at the ground. "I accept your apology but I'm still mad." I said, looking at him. "But Katie......" He started then the ground rumbled, making us stumble. "What the Hades was that?" Travis asked and we looked up. There was a huge lightning storm outside and the lightning was breaking the barrier. All the campers were running for cover as the lightning broke through the barrier and struck the ground. "Katie! We gotta go!!!! Move!!" Travis yelled, shoving me towards the nearest building, which was the dining hall. We ran and dove in the building as lightning struck right behind us. We hit the ground with a loud thud and looked back to see the dining hall porch on fire. Travis got up and and helped me on my feet. All the campers in the dining hall were panicking but then I started to hear a faint noise. "Everyone!!!! Quiet down!!!" I yelled and everyone went silent as I listened. "Katie, what is it?" Travis asked, putting a hand on my shoulder. I started hear it clearly: the distressed neighing of pegasi. I ran outside and looked at the stables to see it on fire from the lightning. I was about to run there but Travis grabbed my wrist. "Katie, no!!!" He said as I looked back at him. "Somebody has to help!" I yelled over the lightning, yanking my wrist from his grip and running towards the stables. I ran inside and found all the pegasi in their stalls panicking. I let them out as the room filled with smoke and they ran from the burning building. I was about to run out when lightning struck through the roof right and hit the ground right in front of me, the light blinding me as the force threw me back and I hit the ground. I couldn't see or breathe from the smoke but I felt someone pick me up off the ground, throwing my arm around their shoulder and putting their free arm around my waist. We hobbled out of the building and slipped, falling in the mud with them on top of me. "Who are you?" I asked and could practically feel the smile grow on their face. "Wow Katie-Kat! You can't even recognize your best friend." The person said and I knew exactly who it was. "Travis?" I asked and I could tell he rolled his eyes. "Duh." He responded and all the noise around us stopped. "Is the storm over?" I asked as Travis helped me to my feet. "Why would you ask. Can't you see for yourself?" Travis asked as I thought about it. "Tr-ravis, I c-can't see anythin-ng." I stuttered out, really scared. "Do you think that the lightning blinded me?" I asked with my really blurry vision, seeing only shadows. "Well, your eyes do look white." Travis said truthfully and I started to cry. "How am I supposed to do anything if I'm blind." I cried out and felt Travis put his hands on my shoulders. "We'll do it together." He said in a sincere tone and I felt his lips gently on mine. I wrapped my arms around his neck and kissed him back. We broke apart and I started to see more. A couple seconds later, I had my vision back and I could see clearly again. "There's those beautiful eyes I love." Travis said and I just smiled at him. "True loves kiss. Works every time." Piper spoke up from next to us with her sisters behind her, waiting with excitement. I never really believed in true love till now. We laughed and Travis picked me up, spinning me around. He set me down and kissed me again as the Aphrodite girls squealed loudly. We looked at each other and just smiled, muddy but happy. ♡
