Katie's POV:

"Alrighty guys! Are you ready for dinner?" I asked, coming out of my bedroom as all of my sisters stopped what they were doing. "Oh, you bet!!! We're starving!!" Poppy announced as I laughed and walked to the door. "Well, let's go! I'm hungry too! Last one out, don't forget to shut the door behind you!" I said as I opened the door and walked outside into the crisp summer breeze of July. My sisters followed me as I began to make my way towards the mess hall, my mouth watering as the smell of mashed potatoes took over my nose. I couldn't wait any longer so I started running as my sisters gasped and laughed, starting to run after me. Poppy ran up next to me and yelled, "I'm going to beat you!" over our pounding feet and ran ahead. I smirked and ran even faster, passing her up and jumping over all the steps of the mess hall porch.  "I win!!!!" I yelled, touching the door as all the girls ran up the steps, panting and groaning after our 30 second session of exercise. I giggled and opened the door, holding it open for my sisters as they piled into the dining pavilion. They all walked over and got in line as I closed the door, joining them at the end of the line. When I finally made it to the serving bar, I ended up getting 2 pieces of fried chicken, 2 scoops of mashed potatoes, 2 cups of fruit, and 2 small garden salads so I could give mom a really good meal tonight. Once I had all my food, I walked over and threw a piece of chicken, a scoop of mashed potatoes, a cup of fruit, and a garden salad into the fire for my mom. When I was done, I began to walk to my table till someone tapped on my shoulder. I turned around and saw Travis standing there with a lopsided grin. "Oh, hey Travis!" I said cheerfully as he smiled. "Hey, Katie-Kat!" He responded as we began to walk towards the tables. "So, I was wondering if you wanted to go to the bonfire with me tonight after dinner?" He asked as I smiled at him. "Of course, I would love to go with you!" I said as he smiled at me. "Great, it's a date!" He said as I blushed and we went our separate ways to our tables. I sat down in between Miranda and Poppy as Travis sat down at his table in front of us facing me. He winked at me as I smiled and took a bite of my salad. I continued eating my dinner and listened as my sisters told me about how their days went till I spotted Connor smirking mischievously towards Miranda. "So Miranda, how was your mud bath today?" He shouted from his table towards our table as she glared at him. "Shut up, Connor!" She snapped as he snickered and people began to turn in our direction. "Wait, what mud bath? What happened?" I asked her as she sighed. "I slipped and fell in the mud today on the way to the lava wall and was covered in mud from head to toe." Miranda told me as I glared in Connor's direction. "Too bad I didn't get a video-" Connor taunted as Miranda growled under her breath. "Connor, I swear to gods if you don't shut it, I'll-" She started as she began to stand up but he scoffed, cutting her off. "What? What will you do? Overwhelm me with the sent of flowers?" He asked as he and a bunch of people around us began to laugh. Miranda narrowed her eyes and looked around, noticing a plastic spoon on our table and my mashed potatoes. She took the spoon and scooped up some of my mashed potatoes, bending back the spoon as he continued to laugh. He had no idea what was about to happen till Miranda let go, sending the potatoes soaring through the air till they hit him square in the face. All of my sisters and the Hermes kids gasped as everyone around us started laughing like there was no tomorrow. Connor wiped off the mashed potatoes in fury and spooned up some pudding off Emily's (his little sister sitting next to him) plate and flung some back, it landing on Miranda's shirt. She gasped and looked at Connor with eyes flaring with anger. "You son of a biscuit!!! This shirt is brand new!!!!" She yelled and stood up, picking up a handful of green beans from her own plate as Connor stood up too. "Food fight!!!!!!!" Clarisse yelled from the Ares table and everyone began throwing food at each other. I screamed as peas came flying towards me and swiped up the tray my food was on, using it as a shield as the peas bounced off and fell to the ground. I quickly scrambled under the table to avoid the crossfire and looked towards the Hermes table, spotting Travis throwing food around. I rolled my eyes but decided that I couldn't stop this food fight myself so I crawled out from under the table and stood up, keeping my tray handy. I covered myself as food flew everywhere and made it to Travis spotless till something came flying out of nowhere and knocked my tray out of my hand. "Travis, you have to stop this!" I yelled over the screaming as he looked at me weirdly. "Your sister was the one who started it!" He yelled and threw a dinner roll at Grover. "Well, your brother was the one who fueled the fire!" I yelled, placing a hand on my hip and throwing my other hand up (above) as he gave me the 'What am I supposed to do?' posture. I rolled my eyes, about to walk away but Travis pulled on my arm and I slipped in the iced tea we were standing in, Travis catching me in a dip as mashed potatoes flew past where I was once standing. "You're welcome!" He said as I smiled and he pulled me up again as Chiron walked in, stopping dead in his tracks at the sight in front of him. "EVERYONE, STOP!!!!!!!!!" His voice boomed as everybody froze, food dropping out of hands and from the ceiling. "Now, what is the meaning of this!?!?" He asked as cricket chirps echoed through the room, no one daring to speak a word. "Well then. Care to tell me who started this?" He asked as everyone suddenly shot up their arms, all pointing to where Connor and Miranda were standing in the middle of the room. They both had their hands raised, frozen in a throwing position as food dripped out of their hands. They chuckled nervously as they hid their arms behind their backs and I face palmed. "Mr. Stoll, Ms. Gardiner. You both have kitchen duties for the next 2 months and have to clean this whole place up by tomorrow morning." He said as they groaned and glared at each other. "I suggest you get started. Everyone else, I assume you're done eating by the looks of this room so you can head to your cabins and stay there till lights out. You ALL are getting punished for engaging in the debacle between Mr. Stoll and Ms. Gardiner." He said and left the mess hall as groans rung through the room. "So, I guess that means no bonfire?" Travis asked as we made our way to the door and I shrugged. "I guess not, which is sad because I was looking forward to it." I said, crossing my arms and fake pouting as Travis chuckled. "Yeah, me too! I guess we'll have to raincheck!" He said as we walked outside and I nodded in agreement. "So, do you think Connor and Miranda will actually finish cleaning the mess hall by tomorrow morning?" Travis asked as he walked me to my cabin and I laughed. "Pfft, no! They'll be making out before they can finish cleaning the first table!" I said as we both started to laugh. "Yeah, you're probably right! I bet that's why Connor teases Miranda so much!" Travis concluded as we approached my cabin porch. "Yeah, that's probably why!" I said, agreeing with him as we walked onto my porch. "Well, I'll see you tomorrow!" I said and opened my cabin door, finding all of my little sisters covered in food waiting for my shower to open up. "Yep, sounds good! Goodnight Katie-Kat!" He said as I blushed lightly and stepped inside. "Goodnight Travis." I said as he smiled and I slowly closed the door, already wanting tomorrow's bonfire to be here. <3
