LIANA'S first day was not going well. She sat at breakfast, her head resting in her hands in exhaustion as she stared at Hermione and Ron grumpily.

"What do you mean you always wake up this early for school?!"

A few heads turned but Liana didn't care, her eyes were already slipping closed and her body felt tired and aching.

"well if you want breakfast you have to come down in time to get it," Ron stated, his eyebrows raised as Liana sank even lower in her seat, her head dangerously close to falling into her cereal bowl.

"Why do they do that to you?" She groaned as she grabbed her spoon dejectedly and continued to eat.

In Beauxbatons she had always missed the first lesson to eat breakfast later than everyone else and to make up for her trouble with sleeping. But Hermione refused to let her miss her very first lesson on her very first day.

Hermione just laughed, shaking her head. The friendship between her and Liana felt like it was blossoming and their conversations were natural and cheerful.

"Where's Scarhead?" Asked Liana casually as she glanced around. It was not often that Harry was seen without Hermione or Ron, something she had picked up on very quickly.

"He should be down here any second-" Ron broke off as Harry came striding through the doors of the great hall. His dark hair tousled from sleep and his tie hanging at the strangest angle around his neck, he looked like he hadn't slept a wink and to be honest, neither had Liana.

Being reminded of every bad thing that had ever happened to her from the dementors yesterday hadn't exactly given her the best start to her school year. But Liana's train of thought however was cut off as a boy with stark blonde hair and pale skin leant over from the Slytherin table to gloat loudly.

"Ohhh Potter, the dementors are after you-Potter!"

Harry, was really not in the mood for Malfoy's jeers that morning. He was having a terrible day so far and was completely mentally exhausted. He would have happily knocked Malfoy's sneering nose off if he even had the energy. But before he could even snap back at the boy Liana was by his side. Liana had plenty of experience with people like this boy and she knew exactly how to deal with him.

Without even pausing Liana picked up Malfoy's glass of pumpkin juice.

"Can I borrow this?" She asked, batting her long lashes with a big smile. Malfoy opened his mouth like a fish out of water, staring in surprise at the girl who had just popped out of no where.
