LIANA had been having a dreadful day so far. She had served as Hagrid's human tissue as the giant sobbed about his beloved Buckbeak, she had been knocked out of the way as Ron went dashing after Scabbers who had made yet another bid for freedom and all while trying to not get caught by Dumbledore and the Minister for Magic.

And, watching the flailing body of Ron be yanked under the roots of a tree by a deranged dog was one of the final straws for her.

"Liana- wait, we need to get help!-" Hermione insisted, as she watched Liana fight her way out of Harry's arms.

"What?- no we don't, let's hurry!" Liana scoffed and she roughly shook herself free of restraints and made a mad dash forwards out of the way of Harry, who had snapped out of his frozen state and was now trying to stop Liana from doing what she was about to do.

Unfortunately, since she had only joined in third year, Liana didn't have the ability to recognise the Whomping Willow as well as the others.

The girl bounded forwards but soon found herself being hit so hard in the stomach she was flung onto her back. Liana gasped in pain as she tried to regain her breath and silently prayed her dinner wasn't about to resurface, only to have to roll over on the ground to avoid loosing her head as the ferocious branches flailed wildly.

"Liana move!" Harry shouted from behind her as he rushed forwards and grabbed her wrist to help pull her to her feet. The pair stumbled backwards and almost fell over as Harry dragged them both out of the way.

"This might be a random guess, but is that the whomping willow?" Liana raised a eyebrow as she gently shook Harry's warm arms off her.

"Funnily enough it is," Harry nodded, not taking his eyes off her as he released his grip on her.

"What are we going to do!?" Hermione wailed worridly as she came to a skidding halt beside them to watch the tree desperately fling its branches out to try and reach them.

"How did the dog get through?" Liana asked as she peered around for some kind of secret weapon that this evil creature might have used.

"I don't know - maybe we should go for a teacher?" Hermione suggested once again as she hovered a few safe feet away from the tree.

"There's not enough time-"

Harry had barely finished his sentence before he made one of the typical rash Potter decisions. Like Liana minutes before, he sprinted towards the base of the tree. It seemed the only option they had, and Harry refused to leave his best friend alone with the dog any longer than he could avoid.
