'Adult things'

Head canon: L's pretty innocent (until you got to him) so he doesn't really know when things go to far, so he tends to always play it safe. Also it's a little short soz.

This is it, he was 18 now and so were you. Now you can do adult things, no more just hugging and cheek kisses, you can do anything now.

He decided he was going to do it. We wanted to do it, he was ready. You were going out today, so everything was perfectly in place. When you woke up, you got ready as usual, noticing L was a little on edge.

"You ok? You look stressed" you asked as you grabbed your bag.

"Huh? Y-yeah I'm fine" he replied.

You walked out the door, L following and locking it behind you. You were off to the shops, it was so close that driving was just pointless, so you walked. L didn't really like shopping but he needed a belt, since he keeps loosing them. You started to walk down the street, toward the shopping centre.

He was going to do it. This time, HE'D make the first move, he was allowed to do these things now. He looked down at your hand, HE WAS GOING TO DO IT.

He reached out and grabbed your hand, intertwining his fingers with yours.

'OH MY GOD I DID IT' He mentally freaked out.

Upon feeling his hand grab yours, you looked down at your locked hands and then up at him, making L mentally panic. But you just laughed.

"Look at yourself, you're so red"

"W-well-"

"You never make the first move and you just did? I know"

"Shut your face this is big deal ok"

"You're just holding my hand..?"

"Yeah but... you can't just hold someone's hand it's a big deal" he said.

What?? It's holding hands???

"Is it? I've held your hand hundreds of times" you said.

"Yeah, because you're rebellious"

"Are you under the impression you have to be legal to hold hands?"

He stayed silent. He knew holding hands wasn't technically illegal under 18, but to him, it was.

"L you're actually joking" you laughed.

"Look when I was little I was told not to hold hands with anyone because it spreads germs, so I've always been under the impression you have to be legal. I know it's not an actual thing but the bigger kids at the orphanage made me think it was and it always stuck with me and- STOP LAUGHING"

"You are so innocent. The way you're blushing anyone would think you just asked to bang"

He almost got freaking whiplash from your words.

"N-no! W-we're too young for that!"

"L were 18, were both legal. But I won't do anything unless you want to. And judging from the fact you think holding hands is a big deal, it won't be for a loooonnnggg time"
