Mom and I just returned home last night, when the whole witch trial began Mom packed us up and we went to Pam's for safety I hated leaving the others to deal with it but the authority was worried that the witches might have had a necromancer and we wanted nothing to do with that so we were forced to leave until word came everything was fine.
Anyway Buffy came to my house early the next morning telling me about her issue so we headed to the library.
I watched Buffy standing by the table concentrating on target, we set up against the railing of the stack level I stood behind her. She threw a knife at the target, it bounced and made a clinking sound as it hit the floor.
Giles walked in with his briefcase and a cup of coffee.
"Bit early in the day and Tori don't you usually train on the weekends or at night?" Giles asked taking a drink of his coffee.
"Giles something's wrong with Buffy." I told him.
"What?" He asked and stopped noticing the target with a few knives stuck awkwardly into it none of them were anywhere near the center. "Ah perhaps you shouldn't'..." Buffy threw another knife, missing the target. "Do that anymore." Giles set down his case.
"On top of that, I got a bad case of the dizzies last night and almost let a vamp stake me." Buffy told him. "With my own stake."
Giles took a drink of his coffee, Buffy picked up another knife and threw it at the target and just like the others It flew wild but this time it flew in my direction, I reacted catching it quickly in mid air and glared at Buffy.
"Opps sorry." Buffy said. "I'm way off my game, my game's left the country it's in Cuernavaca."
"Well, perhaps Buffy's got a bad flu bug or something." Giles said sitting down.
"No" Buffy said. "No not sick. I can't get sick. My dad's coming to take me to the ice show, we do it every year for my birthday. If I cancel it's gonna break his heart."
"Well just um, take it easy for 48 hours" Giles told her. "You know forego patrolling let Victoria handle the slays until you feel yourself again."
"I can patrol and stuff, I haven't been needed much since you and Faith became besties." I added.
"Yeah what is your deal with her?" Buffy questioned.
"No deal just not too crazy about her." I told her shrugging. "There's something about her that makes my instincts spike."
Buffy gave me a look and picked up a couple more knives from the table as Giles went over to get his briefcase.
"No, no I just need to spend a little more time training." She told us, she threw one of the knives, this time it went very wild breaking one of the reading lamps. "I'm gone." She turned around walking out of the library.
"Thank you!" Giles called back walking into his office without looking at the damage.
I raised an eyebrow before following Buffy.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sitting outside at the lunch tables, I was sitting beside Oz, Xander, Buffy and Willow I had brought my own as always.
"An ice show? A show preformed on ice. And how old are we again?" Xander asked.
"I went to Snoopy on ice when I was little" Willow said. "My dad took me backstage and I got so scared I threw up on Woodstock."
"Look, I know you guys think it's just a big, dumb, girlie thing, but it's not. I mean, a lot of those skaters are Olympic medal winners. And every year my dad buys me cotton candy and one of those souvenir programs that has all the pictures, and okay, it's a big, dumb, girlie thing, but I love it." Buffy said.
