/ First Person Protagonist POV /

I woke up once more, but this time, it wasn't at the peace and quiet I had awoken to last time. There was a sort of beeping and siren like sound resonating all over the ship. What now?! I mentally scoffed. Can I not rest in peace? I largely deserve it. I felt as if I had more energy than before, and I tried sitting up. My abdomen hurt, but not as much as it did hours ago, and I knew it would be bearable. At the count of three, I'll try to stand up. I told myself as I breathed in heavily and prepared for a possible excruciating pain. 1... 2... 3! I counted mentally as I sat up straight on the bed.

" That wasn't so hard, or painful." I whispered to myself in relief, I had been scared the stitches would come undone as Mando had told me they could. The beeping sound continued, and I had begun growing tired and annoyed of them very fast. Where is this ear breaking alarm coming from?! I muttered in my head as I massaged my forehead with the palms of my hands, stretching my back carefully.

I stood up slowly and very carefully, realizing how dizzy I felt as I grabbed onto the chair Mando had sat on before I drifted to sleep again. I looked around the shiny room, to find anything I could use to lean on as I walked. Lucky for me, there was an medical IV pole near the chair, and I grabbed onto it. " Ok... Now where do I go, and what do I do?" I asked myself as I headed for the door of the room, taking a long medical robe with me, in case it would be cold.

I peaked outside, into the corridors. Empty. There was so much silence, that my footsteps echoed a little bit through the hallways. I was so used to seeing groups of stormtroopers patrolling the hallways on The Finalizer, it was odd walking down smaller and deserted corridors. I followed the beeping alarm sound, which was becoming louder and louder as I approached the cockpit of the ship.

Mando was sitting in the copilot seat, with a droid next to him, piloting the ship. He was mumbling illegibly as he turned switches and pressed different buttons all over the cockpit. It was such a confusing place, I had never seen a cockpit with so many switches and pushbuttons. Mando slammed his first against the cockpit table. I let out a small yell of surprise, and he turned his chair around to face me.

" Hi..." I whispered loud enough for him to hear as I smiled nervously.

" Hi. What are you doing up? Your wounds still need time to recover healthily." Mando replied, surprisingly a calm reply to someone sneaking around his ship. " Yes, I know. Sorry for bothering you. It's just that there was an alarm like sound, and I wanted to know what it was..." I muttered embarrassed. Mando pulled a chair from under a little side table, " take a seat if you want." He said as he turned back around and concentrated on what he was doing earlier.

I did as he said, because my legs were starting to hurt from standing up after a while of not moving at all, and the floors were cold for my bare feet. I stared at the back of Mando's helmet for a while, it was very, very, VERY awkward. For me. I wanted to ask him if he knew anything about the Crimson Hunter being me, even if I had asked him earlier and he had said no. I didn't believe it for a second.

" Mando?.." I asked him as I tapped him on the shoulder. He turned his chair around once more and faced me. " What is it?" He asked, and I couldn't tell if he was annoyed I kept talking to him. " Why are you so... nice to me?" I questioned, deciding maybe it wasn't the best idea to ask right away if he knew I was the Crimson Hunter. " I mean, not nice. But, compared to the other bounty hunters, like... Djarggi. You tended to my wound and didn't let me bleed out. Why?" I clarified.

Mando remained silent for a couple seconds, and I awkwardly stared at his helmet, wondering what was going on inside his head. " Unlike many other hunters, I know my bounties aren't an object. They're living and breathing. I may hunt people down for a living, y/n, but I still have humanity in me." He replied surprisingly calm.

Oh. I was not expecting that. I don't even know what the answer I was expecting was, but it certainly wasn't that.

" That's, very wise." I replied. " Yee is a wise old man." I mocked. Mando chuckled and shook his head . " What makes you say I'm old?" He replied in humor as well. I shrugged and laughed a little. Even if I hadn't known Mando for a lot of time, in my Crimson Hunter identity and in this one, I knew that maybe, if times were different, we could've been great friends. I felt we already were acquaintance well, and it brought a feeling of warmth to me, at the same time, it brought some sadness as well.

" I don't know, Mando. I'm just going to assume you're old. After all, you could have a grown out white beard and a wrinkled face under that helmet!" I joked back, remembering I hadn't answered him. " I don't think an old man could fight against Djarggi hand to hand." Mando replied, his tone becoming a little more serious even though he was still joking.

I leaned back against the chair. The name of Djarggi still left an uncomfortable feeling in me. I never wanted to kill him. I told myself. I only wanted to harm him, so he wouldn't kill me or Mando. " Tough subject? Sorry." Mando mumbled as he turned back around and looked out into space. " No worries." I muttered as we both remained quiet.

" Get ready. We're taking a jump to hyperspace." Mando told me as he prepared the ship into lightspeed. " We didn't do this when you were sleeping, didn't want to wake you up so abruptly." He mentioned. " Thank you." I whispered as I held on to the chair as the ship started shaking and the stars became thin lines.

" Mando... Can I tell you something? But you've got to keep it for yourself... it could, be dangerous." I muttered as Mando turned his chair back around to face me. " Ok..?" He doubtfully replied.

" I'm the Crimson Hunter." I babbled out. I felt the need to tell him, after everything he had done for me, I trusted Mando would keep the secret.

" I know."
