Chapter 12

MJ's POV

Jer and I pulled pulled up to the house. I had taken off my heels half way through the drive. We quietly made our way to my front door, both tired from excessive singing we had done on the way home. I'm pretty sure that our throats were dry. "Man I'm gonna get some water. Want some?" Jer asked as we walked into the house. "Please!" I said dropping my heels by the door. Knowing that we would leave in the next few hours. I set my keys down on the table besides the door. I walked to the kitchen to see Jer pouring the nice cold water into two cups. Her handed me the cup and took the biggest sip. I laughed because not only did he finishes the water in less than 3 seconds but at how out of breath he was. "Okay let's go pack my things before the party" Jer said setting his cup in the sink. I frowned at the idea of my brother leaving me tomorrow. I hadn't notice the tear slip out of my eye until Jer walked over to me, wiping cautiously. "Sh sh don't cry baby sis" he said pulling me in for a hug. I couldn't help but cry more. "I don't want you to go back Jer. I just got you back" I said in between sobs. He held me tighter and rubbed my back. "I know maddi, I know." He whispered. We stayed like this for a little longer until he pulled away. His hands holding my shoulders. "Hey hey don't cry. I'll be back before you know it okay? I promise" he said holding up his pinky. I laughed because as old as I am, I still use this as a legitimate promise. I smiled and wrapped my pinky around his. "Now come on mi princesa. You gotta help me pack" he said throwing his arm around me. "Jeez Jer, your arm weighs a shit ton" I said poking his side. "Are you Mj, calling me fat?" He said holding his chest. I couldn't help but laugh. Times like this, I miss with my brother. He's the only family I have left.

After an hour of packing his things and double checking if he had left anything out, we finished. "So what's going on with you and dread head?" My brother asked as we laid on my bed. I took a deep breath "He's a friend. Nothing more. Nothing less. It's just his, whatever she is, does NOT like me" I said emphasizing not. He nodded his head "She might just be jealous. I mean I have seen the pictures of you and him. He looks a little too comfortable to be just a friend." My brother said. I quickly looked at him. "No way. I see where you're going with that. It's not possible. Plus I- I can't let myself fall in love. Not after Colby. Not again" I whispered the last part. Jer sat up and looked at me. "That reminds me. Is Colby going to the party?" He said. I thought for a while. "I think so. I mean Kian and Jc did do the inviting. So he could possibly be there." I replied. Not knowing what Jeremy has planned. He simply nodded his head and laid back down. We talked about our childhood to pass time. About 30 minutes later, we heard the guys come back home. Jer and I both looked at our Apple Watches to check the time. It was really weird how we both did that at the same time. We both looked at each other and said "holy shit that was weird" we looked even more shocked. We then burst into laughter. That was the weirdest thing to happen. During our fit of laughter, Kian walked in on us laughing and just stood there. "What's so funny?" He asked smiling. "Nothing" both Jer and I said. At the same time. Again. We stopped and looked at each other. "What the actual fuck?" He said. "This night is beginning to be weird." I said. He nodded his head as before Kian spoke. "Ok. People are starting to arrive." He said before walking out. "Okay let's freshen up and have the time of our lives before you leave big bro" I said punching his shoulder.

Once Jeremy and I freshen up. We walked down to see a good amount of people. "There she is!" Kian yelled. Everyone looked at me and started clapping. I smiled and continued to walk down the stairs with Jer following me. I was greeted by so many friends and people I don't know. I made my way to the kitchen and poured myself a drink. "Shots?" Jeremy asked raising his brow. I smirked "you're going down big bro" I said grabbing 14 shot glasses and poured tequila in them. "Yooo they boutta challenge each other!" Someone yelled. Soon there was a crowd around us. "Sorry mi princesa but you're going down" my brother said. I laughed at him "oh wait you're being serious?" I said raising a brow. "Ready? Set. Go!" Someone yelled. Jeremy and I both started to down each shot. The burning sensation trailing down my throat to my stomach. I was on my 5th shot when I notice Jeremy slow down. I took this as my chance to speed up. What a baby. I was taking this like a champ. As for Jeremy? Poor baby. I quickly down the last shot. I slammed my shot glass on the table as I jumped up and down. Everyone cheering and recording me. I danced around Jeremy as I taunted him. "How does it feel to be dominated by your baby sister?" I said smiling huge at Jeremy. He rolled his eyes at me. "Yeah yeah" is all he said. I continued to laugh.

Jeremy and I split up. I walked to the kitchen to get a water. I know how lame. But in my defense I didn't want to be to drunk in the morning. I looked around to see Jeremy and this brunette dancing. I smiled to myself. I'm glad he's having fun tonight. My thoughts were interrupted by a deep voice coming from behind me. "Mj? Can we talk?" I knew that voice. "What Colby?" I spat. He let out a sigh of frustration. I could smell the alcohol off of him. "I miss us Maddi. I'm such an idiot for letting you go. For cheating on you. I love you" he finished. I was so angry. I turned to face him. "You don't get to miss me. You can't just apologize and think I would forgive you. You've hurt me countless times Colby. And I've had enough! You can't just tell me you love me and expect me to run back to you. It's been months. You're with Shea now. So leave me the hell alone Cole." I yelled at him, I was ready to walk away. Until I felt a tight grip on my wrist and my body was met with the wall. I looked up to see an angry Colby. Everyone in the kitchen just stood there. Watching me get assaulted. "What the hell is wrong with you Colby!?" I yelled as I pushed his chest. Dumbass. I made him even more angry. I watched his eyes grow darker. Almost black. He slammed his fist by my head and I flinched. I didn't know I had let out a scream. I heard yelling and I looked up to see my brother pushing Colby onto the floor. Zion had witnessed this and ran to me. Kian and Jc trailing behind him. Jeremy was beating the shit out of Colby. I ran to them and pulled my brother off of Colby. "You touch my sister again and I'll end you kid. I put that on god" Jeremy said spitting the blood out of his mouth. I watched as Colby got up and tried to hit by brother again. But he wasn't even close enough to us and his Brennen pulled him back. Zion pulled me and examined my face, arms and body. "Are you okay? Did he hurt you?" He said quickly. I couldn't understand what he was saying. I grabbed the back of my head. I felt a warm liquid on my hand. "Fuck" I hissed. My brother turned to me. "Shit Mj your bleeding." Kian said holding a napkin to my head. "I'm okay. Find the source of bleeding and stop the blood by applying pressure." I said sitting down. I sat as my brother held my hand while Kian cleaned my head. "I swear I'll kill him" my brother said. "No. You can't get in trouble. Especially when you're being deployed tomorrow." I said squeezing his hand. By now, I was surrounded by Kian, Jc, Jeremy, Zion, Brandon, and Edwin. Everyone else continued to party. Glad I didn't ruin their fun. "Okay it stopped but tomorrow we are going to get it checked." Kian said tossing the blood soaked napkins in the trash. "Just don't go to sleep and if you feel anything you tell anyone of us. Okay?" Zion said. I nodded my head. "Okay" is all I replied. Jc looked at his watch. "Well your songs are now released!" He said laughing. I smiled at him. "Okay play them now!" I said. Jc smiled and ran to play the songs. "Ayye! Maddi's songs have been released! Everyone go stream them on all platforms!!" Edwin yelled. I laughed as Jer helped me up. "You don't have to baby me Jeremy. I'm fine" I said standing up. I felt another arm wrapped around my waist. I looked up to see Zion. "We gon baby you so deal with it" he said smirking at me. I rolled my eyes and sighed. "Whatever." I said smiling. Tonight was eventful to say the least.
