💮 Chapter 25: For the ones who love me

After Gu Yansheng hung up the phone, he looked at Wen Niannan who was eating with indifference, went upstairs to the study to take some documents, and left.

Hearing the sound of the engine leaving, Wen Niannan stopped bringing food into his mouth and stared at the door blankly.

Aunt Lan felt sorry when she saw his desperate looks. She had seen the spouse's love for his husband in the past few years, but the husband always thought that this was only a mere act from his spouse just to please him.

There was no response on the other end of the phone...

"Dr. Li, I want to continue my treatment for the people who love me and worry about me."

Wen Niannan looked firmly out through the window clenching his fists secretly.

"It's great for you to think like that. I'm really happy for you. When do you want to start?" Dr. Li's cheerful voice came from the other side of the phone.

"This week, I will tell you the specific time later. Thank you, Dr. Li."

After hanging up the phone, Wen Niannan sighed relieved as if some kind of burden had disappeared from his shoulders. He walked to the window looking at the fallen leaves on the yard, the trees were full of desolation. The lonely leaf hanging as it could of the branch was like the relationship between Gu Yansheng and him. It was meaningless.

He didn't know that the last thread connecting their marriage would silently break...
