You looked at him to meet his cold eyes.
"You should consider your priorities and decide where they are exactly."Frowning slightly, you glanced over to Eren, who seemed frightened to the mark of his bones.
As you followed Levi, he remained entirely silent, even though you expected him to say something, anything. It didn't really matter what, since you had no idea what was going through his mind right now. He didn't look at you, he just continued going down the hall, before arriving at the entrance with the narrow stairs in the end, which leaded further down.
There was so much you were not capable of assorting in your mind at this point, that you only glanced to him several times. You felt a little guilty and you didn't know how you were supposed to act, but you really wanted to reassure him that Eren coming this close to you was kinda plausible in this situation.
Of course you weren't okay with your friend doing anything to you, though Levi might think something else.Suddenly the night Levi kissed you went through your head and flustered you even more.
Having in mind that Levi might think you were merely playing him right now let your chest tighten. That you had no deeper intentions than simply using his body for your purposes. Levi probably thought you weren't serious about him and that you were having fun with Eren first and then with him, having your share of entertainment with each of them.He might think you were jumping from one guy to the other and it made you feel hurt yourself, since you didn't want him to imagine this scenario, neither could you do it yourself. You never could, not even in the past.
Especially after the moment you and him shared at the lake, or after yesterday.
Everything was just so peaceful, though it seemed as if it collapsed now and it was your fault. You were aware that you couldn't just brush even a seemingly small happening away, you couldn't ignore it and only move on. You knew these little details held a lot of meaning for Levi.
You wanted to reassure him and defend what he saw, though how? You didn't know how to even do it, since in the end, you had no idea what you and Levi were at the moment. You looked up from the floor, while passing the cool and narrow stairwell, which radiated this minimal dampness you usually sense in such places situated lower than earth level.
"Where are we going?", you asked him.Levi monotonically:
"To Hange for the new injection."Both of you stepped into Hange's big basement, which appeared even huger than it actually was, because both of you got used to the narrowness of the dark stairwell.
"Ahhh! Here you are!", Hange exclaimed happily with a few test tubes clinking, as she jumped up.
"Do you know how long I've worked on this?", she excitedly asked, not disrupting her flow of talking.
"All night, ever since I bought them. And I'm almost finally ready! Look!", she pointed at another small test tube on her stuffed working-place.While you stood by the side next to another rack filled with scrambled or torn papers and notes of previous failed attempts of succeeding with something only Hange knew, you watched the scientist gazing at her creations with her eyes flaming in heated passion.
Yours traveled to Levi, who had crossed his arms on his chest and watched her tinkering on how to infuse the substance into the glass tube. You wanted to begin and say something to him, but you couldn't help but always stay silent. And that happened every time when Levi got like this again.
His cold silence constantly managed to let discomfort spread from the core of your body to your fingertips. And now there was some dumb situation yet again, which made both of you take a step in this freezing distance you despised."Here it is!", Hange beamed, holding the test tube up and putting her goggles onto her head.
Levi lifted a foot and crossed it relaxedly.
"How many of these do you have?"
